I do.. perhaps more than anything else and I think it's an intrinsic part of life. Would that we could all find sufficient belief to place our fate in our own hands and simply look to God for guidance and healing.

[edit] Be it physical or mental ailment, I've always been reluctant to entrust my welfare in the hands of others. Ironically, when you feel you have no other recourse, you turn to more esoteric solutions and it never fails to deliver.

Thankyou 'jazzHands! Divine Healing is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of every Christian. 'By His stripes we are healed' (Isaiah 53:4-5)

The Scripture says, "Be anxious for Nothing. Everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, make your requests to God, and the peace of God which passes all understanding will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

This includes prayer for healing when we need it. Whether God grants the request or not, the outcome is a complete rest in the peace of God which passes all understanding and will keep our hearts and minds in faith and trust in Christ no matter what happens.

So true, I've often prayed for God's intervention and wondered why it didn't come, then realised that help had been provided, just in a rather tangential way. God obviously knows me better than I know myself.. but then, I'd been told that many times before.

I don't think Divine Healing is limited... it can come through doctors or other professional help.
I agree Inquiring.. it CAN. But I have a caveat on that and that is that a Doctor's advice should never undermine your sovereign belief in God. I'll place my welfare in Gods hands before I do an overzealous Med student!

I used to be one who believed that God had to answer my prayers for healing otherwise my prayer was not good enough, or there was something wrong with me, ie: I didn't have enough faith in my prayers.

What I have learned is that God is sovereign and He does things His way and that His way is best because He sees and knows things I will never be able to know. I learned that God is not a vending machine where we put our prayers into the slot like a coin and out pops the answer. But the assurance that He knows me and hears my prayer and takes it to His heart is good enough for me and I can trust Him for the outcome, whatever it is.

A good Scripture is: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Although we may not get the answer we want, we will always get the one we need.

Quite right. It can come through any way that God chooses. Trusting the Lord to do it His way, even though it may not the way we want, is the way to peace of heart and mind in any situation.

I have been divinely healed, I've seen divine healing, and I've prayed for those who God has divinely healed. So, yes.

As others have said God will do it His way and in His timing, but He is the same yesterday, today and forever. So, if He healed before, He heals now and He will heal in the future.

I have seen people who have given me testimonies of physical healing through faith in Christ and I have no reason to doubt them. Jesus performed miracles and healed the sick. He still heals the sick today.

Although I believe God is sovereign and can physically heal people according to His own will, I think we should never underestimate the role of medicine in improving people's health outcomes. It is a tremendous blessing to live in an age where we have access to treatments for a wide variety of medical conditions. Recently I performed CPR on a friend whose odds were against him and he made a full recovery. Nothing special about me, I just did it as my job. Maybe God gave him a helping hand that day.

On a few occasions, I have experienced personally what I believe to be divine healing where I have had relief from illness through prayer.

It is wonderful what God can do when we follow the Biblical guidelines. For the Christian who needs special prayer for healing, there is the provision to call for the elders of the church to annoint with oil and pray the prayer of faith for healing. Also 'pray one for another for healing' (James 5:14-16)

One of the 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12 is gifts of healings. The Holy Spirit distributes gifts to who He wills. Gifts of healings bring healing to the one who is prayed for.

Jesus healed many people. Mark has some good examples of his healings. The disciples had the authority to heal also. Faith is believing in healing. It can come from modern medicine and also the glory of Jesus Christ through prayer. Faith is a huge part of not giving up on what you are praying for regarding healing. Mark 5:34 "Daughter," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be free of your affliction.
