Yes and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass if you wish to stand before the Lord.
Luke 21:34 "But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. this kind of topic challenges us all in terms of how we judge God.

How we judge God, that's how we will be judged.

so as a general rule, I'd really like to think God's mercy and redemption is all powerful like that. If God ends up redeeming everyone like certain passages say, I will not be shocked.

If it is a heresy, it is indeed the most beautiful of heresies.

Dear Michael: The God we envision is the being we become! The glorious Gospel speaks to us of the Glorious One who loses nothing, not leftover pieces of bread and fish, and certainly NOT the sinners (all of us) for whom He is the propitiation!

Much thanks for your comments.

Grace + NOTHING

This is not to say that our efforts are not essential or that there will be nothing for us to do since it is God Who saves us from our failings.

To the contrary, God graciously saves us by causing us to work, “training us that, disowning irreverence and worldly desires, we should be living sanely and justly and devoutly in the current eon” Titus 2:11,12.

But our efforts are merely a product; they are the means through which God saves us. We contribute nothing.

It is not a question of our discipline and volition, but of pride and self-reliance concerning our discipline and volition, of boasting in the flesh instead of glorying in the transforming power of God. As long as we continue to see ourselves, in the final sense, as the key to anything, we will remain proud, antagonistic to “the grace of God in truth” Col. 1:6.

It is one thing to conceive of ourselves, in a dutiful sense and relatively speaking, as “cooperating” with the Lord Jesus, as He leads us into paths of better service. It is quite another, however, proudly to fancy ourselves to be so utterly independent of the Supreme Deity Himself, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, that even He is at a loss to change our will or walk without our help.

Luke 6:32-35 shows us what God’s grace (thanks) is; He is gracious to the wicked, which means sinners like we all were when He was gracious to us. It’s not that we have to preach so they can be saved, otherwise we’re responsible for their “eternal damnation”, and they have to receive the message (if we happen to present it to them), or else they will be eternally damned. Salvation is not based on human actions, but on divine actions. He chooses who to save and when, and at that moment, that soul is saved. And He will save all, as He has clearly said He will do.

We believe the message we heard, and we preach because we are so commanded, but God doesn’t depend upon us to save ourselves, nor does He depend upon our conveying the message, to save others. He is the only Sovereign, and He so arranges EVERYTHING that each will be saved.

Free will and chance are myths which have completely twisted the mindset of many Christians.

To determine

Yes, my friends, make zero mistake: our Father desires and wishes to be in union with you and I. And that is precisely the goal to which He moves in His determined purpose, intention & resolve!

Whose will prevails?

1 Timothy 2:4 - who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

How is thélō used

1.In applying to God.

2.Indicating whether or not whatever is related to the verb thélō is accomplished.

As can be seen, no matter what the word is that conveys His wants, be it wants, desires, wills, delights in, pleases, or wishes, He accomplishes.

Thus, when applied to God, thélō indeed means “To be resolved or determined, to purpose: absolutely.”

2 Chronicles 9:8 “Blessed be the LORD your God who delighted in you, setting you on His throne as king for the LORD your God; because your God loved Israel establishing them forever, therefore He made you king over them, to do justice and righteousness.”

Job 23:13 “But He is unique and who can turn Him? And what His soul desires, that He does.”

Psalm 18:19 “He brought me forth also into a broad place; He rescued me, because He delighted in me.”

Psalm 115:3 “But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases.”

Psalm 135:6 “Whatever the Lord pleases, He does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.”

Proverbs 21:1 “The king’s heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes.”

Isaiah 55:11 “So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”

Matthew 26:39 “And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, ‘My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.’”

Mark 14:36 “And He was saying, ‘Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will.’”

John 5:21 ”For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom He wishes.”

Acts 18:21 “but taking leave of them and saying, ‘I will return to you again if God wills,’ he set sail from Ephesus.”

Romans 9:18 “So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.”

Romans 9:22 “What if God, willing to demonstrate his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the objects of wrath prepared for destruction?"

1 Corinthians 4:19 “But I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I shall find out, not the words of those who are arrogant but their power.”

1 Corinthians 12:18 “But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired.”

1 Corinthians 15:38 “But God gives it a body just as He wished, and to each of the seeds a body of its own.”

Colossians 1:27 “to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Thus, it is Biblically supported to make the following argument.

Premise 1: God desires that all be saved.

Premise 2: God accomplishes all He desires.

Conclusion: All will be saved.

Now this is interesting. I am just awed at how much Luke's Gospels harmonize with the 70ad book of Revelation.

G4991
used in only 5 verses of the Gospels, 4 of those in Luke and all directed to the 1st Jews.

Luke 1:
69 And did raise an horn of salvation to us, In the house of David His servant,
71 Salvation from our enemies, And out of the hand of all hating us,
77 To give knowledge of salvation to His people In remission of their sins,
Luke 19:
9 And Jesus said unto him — ‘To-day salvation did come to this house, inasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham; 10 for the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.’
Jhn 4:22
“You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.

What salvation is Paul referring to in this passage of Roman?[this was pre 70ad]

Romans 13:

11 And this knowing the time, that hour it-is already out of sleep to be roused,
for now nearer<1452> of us the Salvation<4991> than when we believed.

And 3 verses in Revelation

Revelation 7:10
and they are crying to a loud voice, saying, “the Salvation to God of us to the One sitting upon the throne and of the Lambkin
Revelation 12:10
And I hear great voice saying in the Heaven "now became the Salvation and the power and the Kingdom of the God of us, and the authority of the Christ of Him,
that was cast the Accuser of the brothers of us, the accusing them in sight of the God of us day and night. [John 5:45]

The saved Elect in Christ shouting in joy up the destruction of 70ad Jerusalem. Oh the wonder of His Word! Amen! Halleluyah!

The Great City/Harlot/Queen Revelation chapts 17-19

Revelation 19:
1 After these I hear as a great sound of a vast throng in the heaven, saying,
HalleluYah!
the salvation and the glory and the honor, and the power of our God;
2 That true and righteous His judgings,
that He judges the great harlot who corrupts the earth in Her whoredom,
and avenges<1556> the blood of His bond-servants out of Her hand.
3 And a second time they have declared<4483> HalleluYah!
and Her smoke is ascending into the ages of the ages!"
4 And fall the twenty four Elders and the four living-ones,
and they worship to the GOD the One sitting upon the Throne, saying, ‘Amen! HalleluYah!"
5 And a voice came out from the Throne saying:
"Be ye praising to the GOD of us, all ye bond-servants of Him, and those fearing Him,
the small and the great".
6 And I hear as sound of a throng, much, and as a sound of waters, many, and as sound of thunders, strong saying:
"HalleluYah! that reigns Lord the God *of-us, the Almighty.

Dear Lofty:

You are banned from the choir until you get voice lessons and learn to keep in tune!

Your word for today is polýs.

The polýs are "made sinners" in Adam one (1). The identical polýs are "made righteous" in the Last!

EVERY LAST ONE!

So much the more (more to a greater degree).

Added to verbs and adjectives, it denotes increase, a greater quantity, a larger measure, a higher degree, more, more fully.

Romans 5:15, 17

The measure of salvation for which we are indebted to Christ is far greater than that of the ruin which came from Adam; for the difference between the consequences traceable to Adam and to Christ is not only one of quality, but of quantity.

perisseuo=

"To be over and above, over a certain number or measure, to abound, exceed,"

Abundantly=

perisseia =

"an exceeding measure, something above the ordinary," is used four times; Romans 5:17, "of abundance of grace;" 2 Corinthians 8:2, "of abundance of joy;" 2 Corinthians 10:15, of the extension of the Apostle's sphere of service through the practical fellowship of the saints at Corinth; in James 1:21 it is rendered, metaphorically, "overflowing," AV "superfluity," with reference to wickedness. Some would render it "residuum," or "what remains."

perisseuma=

denotes "abundance" in a slightly more concrete form, 2 Corinthians 8:13-14, where it stands for the gifts in kind supplied by the saints. In Matthew 12:34; Luke 6:45 it is used of the abundance of the heart; in Mark 8:8, of the broken pieces left after feeding the multitude "that remained over" (AV "that was left").

huperbole=

"a throwing beyond" (huper, "over," ballo, "to throw"), donotes "excellence, exceeding greatness," of the power of God in His servants, 2 Corinthians 4:7; of the revelations given to Paul, 2 Corinthians 12:7; with the preposition kata, the phrase signifies "exceeding," Romans 7:13; "still more excellent," 1 Corinthians 12:31; "exceedingly," 2 Corinthians 1:8; "beyond measure,"

I view 70ad Jerusalem and the Olivet Discourse in Revelation. That is for another discussion tho.
I have the Olivet Discourse harmonized here if you would like to browse it and perhaps help proof read it. Thanks.

Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke's Temple/Jerusalem Discourses harmonized
HalleluYah! you forgot that is not 70 AD it is Revelation 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

Luk 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Mar 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
Mar 13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Jas 5:8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Rev 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Rev 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Rev 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

Rev 19:19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

Rev 18:8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

Rev 18:9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

Rev 18:10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be

Dan 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

There can be no doubt as to the general meaning of this, for it is explained Daniel 7:23 as denoting a kingdom that “should devour the whole earth, and tread it down, and break it in pieces.” As a symbol, it would denote some power much more fearful and much more to be dreaded; having a wider dominion; and more stern, more oppressive in its character, more severe in its exactions, and more entirely destroying the liberty of others; advancing more by power and terror, and less by art and cunning, than either.

This characteristic is manifest throughout the symbol.the four horns that are seen by the prophet are said to be the four great powers which had scattered and wasted the Jews.

The interpreter does not say by whom this would be done, but he asserts the fact, and that the destruction of the dominion would be final. That is, it would entirely and forever cease. This would be done by an act of Divine judgment, or as if a solemn judgment should be held, and a sentence pronounced. It would be as manifestly an act of God as if he should sit as a judge, and pronounce sentence

And, a fifth point in the explanation of the interpreter is, that the dominion under the whole heaven would be given to the saints of the Most High, and that all nations should serve him; that is, that there would be a universal prevalence of righteousness on the earth, and that God would reign in the hearts and lives of men [BARNES]

The first was given to the Pope, Stephen II., by Pepin, king of France, a.d. 755; and this constituted the pope’s temporal princes. The second was given to St. Peter by Charlemagne, in 774. The third, the state of Rome, was vested in the pope, both in spirituals and temporals, and confirmed to him by Lewis the pious. These are the three horns which were plucked up from the roots before the little horn.
Were eyes like the eyes of a man - Intimating cunning and superintendence; for the pope calls himself Episcopus episcoporum, the Overseer of overseers.
And a mouth speaking great things - Full of boasting; pretending to unlimited jurisdiction; binding and loosing at pleasure; promising to absolve from all sins, present, past, and future; and threatening to send to everlasting destruction all kings, kingdoms, and individuals, who would dare to dispute his power and authority. [CLARKE]

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Revelation 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

The Divine Fire

Refining & Consuming

I. The operation of the Divine fire depends on what it operates on.

This is one of the most marked peculiarities of common fire. It scatters water; it melts wax; it destroys wood; it hardens clay; it purifies metal. It makes silver valuable; it makes dross worthless. And so with the Divine fire. The apostle dwells on its testing power (1 Corinthians 3:13); but here its actual moral effect on differing characters is indicated. Take classes of character in Malachi's time, and show the different effects which Divine dealings had upon them. Take types of character now, and show how Divine dealings soften or harden.

II. The Divine fire is destructive of the forms of things, not things.

Science now explains that common fire destroys nothing; it only Changes the forms and relations of things. When the state of the wicked is irremediable by any existing moral forces, then their form and relation must be changed. As in the time of the Flood, humanity had to be put in new conditions. God's fire destructions always begin a new regime. - R.T.

The way for all is through the fires, for fire is the great uniter and reconciler of all things; and things which without fire can never be united, in and through the fire are changed and become one.

Therefore every coming of Christ, even in grace, is a day of judgment. Therefore there are fires even for the elect both now, (1 Pet. 1:7, and 4: 12) and in the coming day; (1 Cor. 3:. 13, 15.) for “our God is a consuming fire;” (Heb. 12: 29.) and to dwell in Him we must have a life, which, because it is of the fire, for fire burns not fire, can stand unhurt in it.

Therefore our Lord “came to cast fire into the earth,” and desired nothing more than “that it should be already kindled;” (S. Luke 12: 49) therefore He says,

Mark 9: 49-

For this is the very “baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire,” (Matt. 3: 11) that “spirit of judgment and burning,” promised by the prophet, "with which the Lord shall purge away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and cleanse the blood of Jerusalem; after which He will create on every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and on all her assemblies, a cloud of smoke by day, and the brightness of flame of fire by night; and upon all, the glory shall be a defence; (Isa. 4: 4, 5) for “He is like a refiner’s fire, and like a fuller’s soap; and He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and He shall purify the sons of Levi as gold and silver are purged, that they may offer to the Lord an offering of righteousness.” (Mal. 3: 3). And as by the hidden fire of this present life, shut up in these bodies of corruption, we are able by the wondrous chemistry of nature through corruption to change the fruits and flesh of the earth into our blood, and from blood again into our flesh and bone and sinew; so by the fire of God can we be changed, and made partakers of Christ’s flesh and blood. In and through Christ we have received this transmutation; (Rom. 5: 11) and through His Spirit, which is fire, is this same change accomplished in us.

NOTE:

Numbers 28: 6. By this double sense a veil covers the letter, veiling yet revealing God’s purpose; for His purpose to the creature is through destruction to perfect it, and by fire to make it a bride unto the Lord. For a kindred reason some of the angels are called Seraphim, that is burning ones; for like the Lord, whose throne is flames of fire, (Dan. 7: 9,10.) they also are as fire; as it is written, “He makes His angels spirits, His messengers a flame of fire.” (Heb. 1: 7, and Psalm 104:4)

And as with the first-fruits, so with the harvest. The world to be saved must some day know the same baptism. For “the Lord will come with fire,” and “by fire and by His sword will He plead with all flesh, and the slain of the Lord shall be many.” (Isa. 66: 15, 16.) The promised baptism or outpouring of the Spirit must be judgment, for the Spirit cannot be poured on man without consuming this flesh to quicken a better life;

NOTE:

James 1: 20) works both righteousness and life, and is set forth in that “warfare of the service of the tabernacle” (See Numbers 4: 23, 30, and 8: 24, 25; margin: and compare 1 Tim. 1: eighteen) by which that which was of the earth was made to ascend to God through fire a sweet sacrifice.
