• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I started using coke at a young age b4 i got saved. After coming to God i was completely of it for a few years. and then after going through a truama i started using regularly. During this time of use, i have prayed for several years. went to NA and have worshipped God with all my heart, tried herbal medicines..everything. I am very addicted and Im worried I am not pleasing God or might go to hell. I dont think its wrong to use cocaine itself, only becuase its illegal. I dont understand it. I am starting to think its not wrong becuase God never spoke to me about it, or delivered me from it. But it does make me worry a lot. Please, give me good advice and pray for me by posting a prayer below

Addiction puts one into bondage.
A very, very, terrible place to be.
A slave to sin.
I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ gives you clarity and wisdom regarding this matter.
You are not alone friend .
Many struggle with addictions of all sorts.
There is true liberty in Christ Jesus.
Keep your eyes upon Jesus.
I pray that He delivers you from the bondage of sin and makes you a trophy of His grace and mercy.

May the Lord deliver.
Peace in our Saviours name.

Some claim that cocaine is the most addictive substance in the world. If not #1, it is close to the top. I agree with Southernscotty. It would seem that a treatment center is highly recommended, if not a virtual necessity. God bless you.

Hi there,

His love is bigger than your struggle - if you limped through life with one leg it would not affect your salvation.

However His will is for us to walk free.

For what it is worth it took me seven years to become 'normal' again after drug use and I can share a few keys.

The keys for my return to wholeness were these...

To make finding healing your number one priority.
To immerse yourself in prayer as it accelerates the process of healing.
To prioritise reading the Word prayerfully.
To yield and surrender to God who is a God of Order (so its not a freak out)
To learn to resist Satan effectively when temptations arise.

Father, turn your eyes towards this dear soul and illuminate the pathway to freedom in Jesus Name.

Blessings,

Carl Emerson.

Yes but as long as you are addicted to this stuff, You are in a dangerous situation dear friend. You CAN win this battle, There is some place or someone somewhere that can and will help you with this and it will probably require medical detox and therapy to get free from this. You can and we are praying for you so
Please seek this out now and do not put it off. You can do this.

Anything that takes away our discernment and control is crippling and injurious. Scripture tells us to be sober-minded and to watch out for the pitfalls of life (and there are many). And while two of the works of the flesh are "drunkenness" and sorcery (in the Greek, sorcery is "pharmakia", from which we get "drugs"), one of the fruits of the spirit is self-control (see Galatians 5.19-ff). You cannot worship God as you should, and live a healthy life, if a major part of you is in bondage. Jesus loves us and wants us free.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty in which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. -Galatians 5.1

I remember way back when cocaine first hit the mainstream. It was touted as the "perfect high" - no side effects. It was a complete lie. Thank God I had enough wisdom by then not to trust any illicit drugs.

What's more, these days dealers are spiking everything with Fentanyl. It's a little "value-added" freebie. Apparently their goal is to acclimate everyone to it so that the subsequent step to use and addiction will be only slight. Be very careful. You are not dealing with good people who want the best for you. They want to use you. There are videos on youtube about the fentanyl crisis. It is unprecedented. The drug is synthetic, cheap to produce, and way stronger than heroin. It can take only as little as 1/4 mg of it to kill you, and no one knows the purity of what's going around, so overdoses are increasing exponentially. 30,000 opioid deaths in the US per year now.

What herbs did you use? Were they specifically to kick the habit, or also to build general health? And without unnecessary detail, what trauma caused you to start using again?

Ok look, I need you to understand i'm going to be harshly honest. It won't be very nice, but i'm trying to show you some real love here. I mean everything i'm about to say to you in a loving way.

Your post reminds me of a friend and fraternity brother I had. He said the same thing. I'm addicted but there is nothing wrong with cocaine and it should be legal.

He blew up his heart on a business trip. He wasn't even 30 when he died. Left a wife and a little one swinging in the breeze.

I'm telling you, my B.S. meter is totally pegged right now. You're in big, big trouble. What you are saying makes absolutely no sense at all. Classic addict talk. Anyone that has been in recovery for more than a week would recognize it for the line of garbage it is.

If you get your act together now, in a year you should come back and read this post to see how stupid the drugs are making you.

Get sober and get into a program like yesterday. I pray God will clearly show you the error of your ways before something really terrible happens.
