I feel I need something to jump start my faith, help me feel convicted of sin and just lead me in the right way again... bc I just feel I'm living my life for myself and I'm not bearing any fruit at all
Baptism shouldn’t be your way or reigniting that spark. Forsaking ourselves and living for God is a daily decision. It’s hard, and will be until the day we die. Just commit yourself to the disciplines: prayer, bible reading, Christian fellowship, etc. That is the best way to be led in the right way again.

Christ said the words he spoke are spirit (John 6:63). Reasonably, because Christ is the Word, and he authored the Bible through the Spirit, it is appropriate to say all the words in the Bible are spirit. We, as Christians, should walk in the Spirit, and the only way to do that is to feed the Spirit given us through the words of God. Only when we begin seeing the fruits of the Holy Spirit in our inner man do we start seeing fruits in our life. One cannot be without the other. We cannot bear fruit if we have no fruits of the Spirit. So work on being close to God and nourishing yourself with the Bread of Life, and the rest will come.

I think this is probably why the fire keeps dying out. I have no Christians to fellowship with. :/

Baptism isn't necessarily intended for that, at least from how I understand it (as some here might disagree with my comment).

My advice for you is to go straight to God's law, and see yourself in it. Then look to Christ, and see what he did for it. "Until sin be bitter, Christ will not be sweet" (Thomas Watson).

There is a book I'm currently reading as a devotional, if you are interested, by Watson called "The Saint's Spiritual Delight" that was originally aimed to reach his own family and friends he was deeply concerned about in their profession of the Christian faith. Sure, the book is nearly four hundred years old, but there have been reprints (even digitally) that have updated the spelling for contemporary readers to read, while retaining his illustrative language. The chapters aren't really that long, many are pretty short. Since it is in the public domain, here is a free epub and pdf. It works great to read a chapter each morning if you aren't much of a reader.

If you are further interested, or prefer another recommendation, listen to some of these convicting sermons on the gospel message by the still living missions-board director of HeartCry ministries, Paul Washer, here and here. Yes, the same message can still stir the Christian to love, serve, and hold tightly the Savior, it isn't just intended when we first believe, but should be preached every day.

PM me if you are interested in more resources to help stir your affections, aims, and mind toward Christ, and encourage you to go in the strength only God provides.

Many churches have small groups and other ministries that happen during the week. Getting involved in those (not just attending) can be a good way to maintain connections. Even if the ministry happens on Sunday (worship ministry, for example) there tends to be rehearsal during the week and the bonding that occurs among people involved results in friendships that carry on other days as well. If you don't see a ministry that fits you, ask yourself how God is calling you to serve Him? Perhaps you can start the ministry that will result in both connecting better and help you bear fruit.

They have those groups/ministries but they have this thing where you have to attend a 4 week class that teaches you about God, then to join a ministry its based on attendance..if you miss a few days then you have to start all over again and I'm going to be very busy working 2 jobs so I don't how ill be able to help.

If it's a time management issue, you may wish to strive to find some "rest" time. Fire has a problem sparking without air, and the being cannot recharge if it is constantly on the go.

I have been baptized multiple times, as an infant Catholic (if my dad told me right), in a baptistery Baptist, and in a river Pentecostal Holiness. I have no intentions of getting baptized a fourth time. I do not regret having been baptized three times, and if someone told me it was unnecessary I would have to agree, but still do not regret the decisions.

I would focus more on building your faith and finding creative ways of putting it to use.

Many people have been baptized who are not "Christian." Believer's baptism is for believers. Infant baptism means nothing, you need to be able to make a conscious informed decision to follow Christ, therefore believer baptism is needed. Once you have put on Christ through the symbolic rite of baptism which represents your death, burial and resurrection you need to be obedient to your calling, at all cost. If your life has not changed: your words, dress, attitude, emotions, the things you allow your eyes to view, your ears to hear, the friends you keep, the places you go, etc, then you have every right to question if you are a true follower of Jesus. You must love all of mankind as Jesus instructs us in His Sermon on the mount. If you believe that you can kill your enemies, sit on juries, pledge your allegiance to a flag and such things as that then you have every reason to question whether or not your baptism means anything because all of those things are the ways of this world and not the Kingdom of God. I guess the questions is "Have you been born again"? Does your life look like Jesus' life? Do you have sincere regret for the things you used to do and the things that you slip back into? Do you hate the flesh and the things that it loves? The fruits you want to look for are the fruits of the Spirit which are at odds with the things of this world. A feeling of disgust for your old life should be driving you toward real life in Jesus and not to soak your bad feelings in alcohol, entertainment, pursuit of money, clothing, sensuality, food and those sort of things. There is a Christianity today that is patterned after the world which we see all around us, then there is another Christianity which is separated from the world that you have to look carefully to find, it is like a buried treasure or wheat among tares. Jesus says that His flock is little and states that very few will be able to enter through the narrow gate. Most Christians today are satisfied to walk in the "broad way," don't be one of those Christians. Wear your baptism as a badge of honor that will show the world that you stand apart from it awaiting the return of your King who will shortly return for those who "continuously" work and eagerly expect that return.

I don't think you should get baptized again. I believe that baptism is baptism no matter how its performed. Why? A multitude of reasons but the main reason is because the Nicene Creed says so. It doesn't say "I believe in multiple baptisms" it says "I believe in one baptism". Baptism is about the only thing that I disagree with most protestants on. Many of them say you have to be baptized full immersion. I just don't agree with that. A baptism is a baptism.

It depends on which church/denomination you belong to, Macchiato.

Most churches consider Baptism to be indelible and any re-enactment would be wrong to attempt. They have alternate church ceremonies which take care of what you are looking for.

But there are some other churches that think of Baptism in a totally different way and would rebaptize people or even require it of some people. Since you are, I think, connected with a church, talk to the pastor about how to rededicate yourself in some official way.

Nothing wrong with getting baptized again, but it should be done with a sincere heart and knowing what being baptized really means.

By baptism we confess our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and testify of our death to sin and of our purpose to walk in newness of life. Thus we acknowledge Christ as Lord and Saviour, become His people, and are received as members by His church.

Baptism is a symbol of our union with Christ, the forgiveness of our sins, and our reception of the Holy Spirit. It is by immersion in water and is contingent on an affirmation of faith in Jesus and evidence of repentance of sin.

It follows instruction in the Holy Scriptures and acceptance of their teachings.

Matthew 28:19-20 Acts 2:38 Acts 16:30-33 Acts 22:16 Romans 6:1-6 Galatians 3:27 Colossians 2:12-13

God Bless.

If you can, find a church that has small groups. Some might call them life groups or study groups or community groups, but you are right that it is difficult to find community at church on Sunday morning. Small groups make it so much easier to connect, though. Going to a new church alone is tough, so props to you for making the effort :)
