A Study of the Scriptures: The Psalms.
Warning: Please Read Thread Rules Below Before Posting.
Psa 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
My Commentary:
Today, many walk in the counsel of the ungodly and stand in the way of sinners. We have to be light unto them. We have to be holy and separate from them and pray for them and do good towards them. We are blessed by God not to be under any teacher who counsels us in any kind of ungodly or sinful way. We are blessed by God if we are not standing in fellowship (standing in the way) with others who claim to be sinners and or who justify sin these days. We are blessed by God if we are not sitting in the seat of scornful men. We are not hanging out with those who wrongfully attack others and who judgment is two faced. They are not at peace and are scornful and hateful of others. But in the New Covenant, the Lord commands us to love even our enemies.
My Commentary:
The Word of God is something that you put on the inside of you. You meditate or think about it all day and all night long. It is your bread or your food. Actually more precious than food. The Word of God is how we get our faith. A part of the faith includes commands or laws given to us by God. Under the New Covenant, we have a "law of the LORD." However, for us New Covenant believers, this is not the Law of Moses, but it is the commands that come from Jesus Christ and His followers from the pages of the New Testament. We are to delight in these laws (Which is contrary to many in the religious world today). Any time you mention "law" they scream legalism. But we delight or take enjoyment in the laws of the Lord because they express our love towards Jesus. For Jesus says if you love me, keep my commandments.
My Commentary:
A person who delights in the Law of the Lord will be planted like a tree by the river of water.
Revelation 22:14 says,
"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."
Notice that they will bring forth fruit in due season. So sometimes immediate fruit is not noticeable right away when a person delights in the Law of the Lord. It takes time for us to mature and grow and learn so as to apply God's laws to our lives. In due season. The fruit will come. Everything we do as a part of God's kingdom will prosper. For our everything we do is for the Lord. For our prosperity is not in the things of this world or material wealth, but it is in the prosperity of righteousness or godliness.

Rule #1. This is not a debate thread; Nor is it an insult thread. This is a study thread. If you disagree with an interpretation or view expressed here, you can say how you disagree in one or two sentences, but you must provide a link to a new thread (or one that was previously created in the past) to produce your reasons as to not interrupt the purpose of this study.
Rule #2. I will put forth the chapters of where we are at in the Bible on our study, and nobody else. Please no random chapter studies. The purpose of this study is to stay on track with discussing the Bible in the order of how it is written. This is not a thread about the debate of the chronology of the Bible or about how you disagree with someone. This is a Bible Study thread which is supposed to help enrich your beliefs about God's Word.
Rule #3. Stay on point with only the current chapter or passage being currently discussed. No past chapter study discussions that are really old, and no future chapter study discussions. Please try and discuss only the current chapter study under discussion by me. Granted, I will allow a few comments after a story has just passed, but such discussion should not continue on and on so as to interrupt the current bible study discussion of where we are at in the Bible. If you want to add to a past Bible study discussion (that has been over for a long while), start another thread. The purpose is to stay on point with the current bible study so as to get through studying the whole Bible together.
