Should we listen or learn from Christians who are millionaires?

Should we take advice from Christians who are millionaires?

the bible teaches to be content weather rich or poor, it teaches many traps and temptations for those who chase riches. If you make more then 45k a year welcome to the 1% club of the world, you have been blessed more the 99% of the worlds population with great wealth, you and I will be held accountable to what we do with it one day. SO the old saying show me your check book and I will show you wear your heart is is something to think long and hard about.

One thing I have found in life. It is those with the absolute least that are the most giving.

That goes without saying. If they give it all away, they won't have it anymore. Hence, they have the least.

Ah. That's a strange definition of "rich". Sounds to me like you're saying that Christians should not be absurdly rich.

Is it okay for a Christian to make 75k per year?

It’s not strange if you accept Scripture plainly.

“And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.” (Luke 12:19-21).

@Jason0047 A lot of actors from Christian movies that you like are fairly wealthy. Kirk Cameron's networth is $20 million, for example. You've contributed to his wealth if you've seen or endorsed any of his movies. Does that make you upset?

A person can be saved even from hearing a prosperity preacher on TV or the radio. That does not mean they should stick with that preacher or endorse them once they discover the truth about them.

15 “Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.” (Philippians 1:15-18).

I would thank God for a million dollars. I'd pray to steward it with wisdom, providing for my family and also being generous toward the work of the gospel.

I wouldn’t want a million dollars. I prefer to put my treasure in Heaven instead. This life is but a vapor and passes away. I would rather be overly cautious when it comes to my soul, than to play games by indulging in the things of this world that are fleeting.

I pray to God that he gives me exactly enough to meet my basic needs and those I help around me. Living it up by being rich doesn’t sound like picking up your cross and denying yourself.

41 "And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living." (Mark 12:41-44).

million dollars doesn't go far anymore
if people want to retire, they need to save

average cost for basic living in retirement is about $36,000/yr and figure 20 yrs in retirement

then hope you don't need a nursing home
we know someone in one now and it's $7,000/ mos
his daughter is afraid his money will run out soon

people end up homeless, unable to afford medications, etc in old age because they never saved money or prepared

I will have faith and trust in God and not mammon. It's my hope to be taken up in the Rapture or to die for my faith or to quitely pass away (when all is well).

stay healthy, never get sick, nor go into a nursing home
nor get in a car accident, nor send any kids to college, nor give any money to your destitute relatives (who failed to save because they never made much money)

we trust in God but no one knows if they're the one to end up in a nursing home

we've seen it happen even to those with families who do their best to care for a relative but comes a point when they no longer can and the person is totally immobile and needs healthcare from professionals

It is written,

“If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Luke 12:28-31)."

Although mammon would go a long way in loving neighbour as self if used properly. Take the money for a wall. Is it God's way to have capitalists profit from it or would it serve Him if the money was used to improve conditions and oppression for others. Would they then need to leave home? I'm not talking feed them but remove the oppression that prevents them from living their own lives.

Surely you would agree that God wants our heart and life and not for us to focus on being rich.

Who said anything about not working?

God provides a job and it's people's responsibility to save money to provide for their family

my point was that ONE million is not much anymore
if one needs to support a wife and themselves in retirement
food, shelter, health care, maybe nursing home, one needs money

no one knows how long they will live and people are living longer and longer
we can't just hope to die before we get old or run out of money

The purse holder does not own the money. They helped others with that money and did not hoard it so as to buy a mansion or other treasures.

Maybe - I'm just saying that Jesus didn't condemn having money, because he had it.
Your statement wasn't that Jesus condemned people who bought mansions, it was that Jesus condemned those who were rich, and he taught about giving away possessions.
