What is the difference between acknowledging the Scriptures are true and believing the Scriptures are true?

Action. One who believes will act on what they believe.
Acknowledgment doesn't require action.

Those who believe the gospel are saved. Those who don't believe it are condemned. But James points out that believing the Gospel is more than just an acknowledgement of the facts. Its also acting on those facts. But God will save every person who comes to him for salvation and will turn none away. Those who are truly born again will be lead INTO action because the Holy Spirit will guide them into action. Hope that makes sense.

The same as knowing people swim. And swimming.
