"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.” - Revelation 2:11

One of the things I have learned as the pastor of a church with a school ministry is that children are poor listeners, at least according to the achievement test scores. I do believe that children get their poor listening skills from their parents. The truth is that we all need to develop better listening skills. Do you know which organ of the body requires the most energy? The first two obvious guesses might be... #D4Ldevotion #D4L #Christian

It brings to mind spiritually "plugged up" ears. Thank God that He "un-plugs" our ears so that we CAN "hear" what He says. The Holy Spirit opens our eyes and our ears to "see and hear" all that we were oblivious to before His God's intervention. Thank God He "wakes" us from such an "oblivious slumber" that leads to destruction.

Thank you for this reminder and study and meditation on this milder and cloudy last Friday morning in February, brother. God bless you.

Interesting topic. My ex-wife was an impatient listener, and passed it down to our kids. My daughter was telling me something once (when she was very young) and suddenly asked me why I was "looking at her that way". I was taken aback momentarily until I realized what was happening. "I'm listening to you, you have my full attention", I told her. She is an attentive listener today. Not so with my son, who will often actually walk away in the middle of a conversation.
