Did God break His covenant with Israel? You know the verse about the divorce. You know the reasons, and there has been many who have jumped on the replacement bandwagon. So the question remains...

HOW HIGH IS THE FENCE GOING TO BE NOW!!!..NOT HIGH ENOUGH.,,GOD DOES NOT WANT FENCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,THESE QUESTIONS ARE NOT FOR US TO THINK, NO ONE HAS THE ANSWER,,GOD/JESUS HIS SON WILL REVEAL WHAT THEY WANT!!..NOT US!!! AMEN
First off, we need to define "Israel."Did God break His covenant with Israel? You know the verse about the divorce. You know the reasons, and there has been many who have jumped on the replacement bandwagon. So the question remains...
But they did not keep his covenant.God mentions that all the earth is his to show that when he calls Israel his "own possession," he means more than the general care and authority he has over the world. He will be Israel's God and they will be his possession in a special way. They will have blessings beyond all other nations. They will be God's prized possession—if they keep his covenant.
The tribe of Levi did not inherit with Israel. The priests had the priesthood as a distinct inheritance from Israel.Exodus 19:6 "and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests."
The most striking privilege of the priests was intimate access to God. They drew near on behalf of the people. Their inheritance was not the land but the Lord. This privilege God promises to the whole nation.
Who is "them" in the above? This privilege is heightened when God calls them a royal priesthood .
Sorry, somehow it got lost. I was responding to vis in post #8.Who are you responding to?
And are the Israel of today the decedents of Jacob?First off, we need to define "Israel."
Are we talking Israel (decedents of Jacob) as opposed to the gentiles; or Israel (Northern Kingdom) as opposed to Judah?
If you are talking about the first, then NO, no divorce took place. But if you are talking about the 2nd, then yes, God DID divorce the northern kingdom and scattered them .
Jeremiah 3:8
And I saw that for all the adulteries of faithless Israel, I had sent her away and given her a writ of divorce, yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear; but she went and was a harlot also.
So God divorced the northern kingdom, but even though the southern kingdom did similarly, there was no divorce there. So God asks Judah while in exile "Thus says the Lord, “Where is the certificate of divorce By which I have sent your mother away?" Isaiah 50:1
Yes, she was sent into temporary exile; but not a divorce.
Again it is how you define it.And are the Israel of today the decedents of Jacob?
How do you personally define it, Dave?Again it is how you define it.
