Today, Trump announced that he didn't need to build the wall right now, just after announcing it was an emergency.

"Look, the only national emergency we have right now, is our president is an idiot."

I retweeted that from Ann Coulter earlier today because I am in full agreement with her.

^^^ That is a sentence I never anticipated writing. The times we live in......

Imagine someone so completely unfit for the job that Ann Coulter and liberals agree on him.

It could very well be an act. I've long been a proponent of the theory that she's a cynical huckster that believes whatever she thinks will make her the most amount of money. But it's fun to watch, probably makes Donny seethe and there really isn't a 'good guy' here, so I'm just enjoying the fireworks.

Didn’t she kind of admit that a while back? Forgot where but I read an interview where she implied she wasn’t really serious a lot of the time.

Morning stanfordella,

I'm with you. Coulter has always seemed to me to be a pretty 'militant' christian. I've never been much in agreement with her or her methods, but I can stand with her on that statement.

God bless,
In Christ, ted

So it seems, is Trump. Professional jealousy?

Maybe so.

A statement which proves conclusively you haven't read any of her books.

Usually, hucksters who do this kind of thing successfully, get inflated egos and eventually start believing their own hustles. I suspect Coulter is like that.

And you haven't read any of her work either.

I started on High Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Case Against Bill Clinton, but never finished it. I did notice that she repeatedly argued that a serial adulterer could not be allowed to be president, and should be impeached.

I also noticed her embellishments of the Vince Foster case, and so on. I figured she was either a wacked out radical, or a cynical huckster.

I lean toward the latter now, although (as I said) she seems to have started drinking her own Kool-aid.

It's great when you don't agree with someone and you can quote their own words to support your argument.
Trump...it's really not an emergency, I just want to do it faster.

Whoever Jeff Tiedrich is, he suffers from severe reading comprehension. Or he is just a liar. Either.

That's exactly what Trump did:

He said he didn't need to call an emergency. "I didn't need to do this. But I'd like to do it faster."

Then he took a long weekend in Florida.

There are far too many people who are either unwilling or unable to make the simple logical connection prescribed by context. Trump did not say he didn't need to do this because but just decided to for no reason. He said he didn't need to do this because it was the job of Congress to do it and Congress has refused.

Easy. "I didn't need to do this. But I'd like to do it faster."

It wasn't needed. He just wanted to go faster.

He said he didn't need to do this because it was the job of Congress to do it and Congress has refused.

Nope. Read it again. And if he had admitted that, he'd be ripped for that, too. It is the Constitutional duty of Congress to allocate funds as they see fit, not his. If Congress refuses, that's how it is.

And then he went to Florida for a long weekend. Some "emergency."

The reason this one put him in such hot water is the circumstances. In the past, such declarations were either widely supported by Congress and/or the public, or it wasn't anything anyone cared much about.

This one, was rejected by Congress, and opposed by a large majority of Americans. And so he's taking a beating over it.
