Did God completely abandon humanity after Babel?

This is often a question i keep asking myself over and over again. It is said that salvation had come from the Jews but obviously this does not mean that everyone before Abraham was not saved since there were righteous people before him such as Noah but what about the nations whom God created due to the separation of languages?

As God has said they are without excuse as knowledge of God is plainly seen in creation.

A simple point. They are already dead and will have been judged by God, worrying about what happened to them changes nothing.

So to your point do you think it is possible to know God from seeing his creation without hearing his word? I believe that God may have revealed his majesty to those them that sought for him. In my case I remember as far back as I could I always believed in God but did not always know who Jesus was until God himself revealed him to me. In my case I was baptized from birth and my mother was a devout Christian so perhaps her blessings were bestowed upon me from birth.

It is possible to know that there is a God from creation and we know that God will make himself known to those who seek him.

I honestly don't think anyone really knows who Melchizedek was so I didn't mention him.

He blessed Abraham. He was a priest of the true God (Genesis 14:18, Hebrews 7:1). So there were believers apart from Abraham.

It seems God had a special interest in Jerusalem. We only know he was king/priest in Jerusalem, the writer of Hebrews might have told us more if the recipients hadn't been so hard headed.

This is the kind of question which makes me wonder if the real question is, Is God fair?

Of course God is fair ,he is sovereign.he is our father and he loves us, we are his children,he does what he wants with us, he knows whats best for us and hes got it all figured out already as beautiful or as ugly as it might seem..same concept applies to those guys then... so as much as we do not know what happened then... Rem jer 29:11 says For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. he is still the same God yesterday toady and will always be.

Well when you read the OT you find Israel was to take Gods word to the WORLD.. they didn't.. He picked someone else..to make them jealous. ANYONE that just CALLS on the name of the lord shall be saved.. you DONT have to KNOW Him.. to call on Him

God has never abandoned anyone except Jesus while He bore our sin.

Jesus Christ is the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world and he is the Lamb that takes away the sin of the world.

The very fact you recognise there were people saved during this time answers your own question.

While we were still sinners, God sent His only Son to us.
God exists outside of time, stretching from the Alpha to the Omega.
So timing is never an issue. Jesus will judge everyone on judgment day.
The faithful believers from every age will be forgiven all tresspasses.

Babel was an event that divided the church of that time from the rest of the world. If you do a little digging in, you will notice that the dividing wall between the Israel and the World began after the fall (the promise of Eve), then with Seth (appointed in place of Abel), then Noah, then Shem (Gen. 9:26-27), then Heber (the father of the Hebrew race), then his son Peleg ("in his days the earth was divided"), then Abraham ("all the families of the earth shall be blessed in you"), then Isaac (instead of Ishmael), then Jacob (instead of Esau). The Christian Church, before Pentecost, was in the midst of the nation of Israel.

God was revealing the promise of his salvation progressively in time, but limited the audience through each of these persons until the dividing wall of where the gospel was proclaimed and understood was confined within Israel. They had the Law, the Writings, and the Prophets who revealed Christ, and if you were a believer in that time you would have likely been a Jew. Jesus Christ, in the inauguration of the New Covenant, opens the door of salvation to all nations beyond the Jews.

Yes, salvation is from the Jews, but it has been opened now to the whole world. This is the mystery of the gospel hidden for ages, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and members of the same body. The separation, specifically the Old Covenant, between Israel, that separated them from the world, and the nations have been removed. God has made both into one new man in Christ, so that there is neither Jew or Gentile in Christ, we are all one.
