My wife is current 15 weeks pregnant, we had news 2 weeks ago that our little one has a high chance of having Down Syndrome as initial scans show that the nasal bone is absent and blood work done supports it. The little one has a 1:4 (25%) chance of Trisomy 18. Trisomy 18 is a growth defect where 40% of the babies born survive the first year and 10% survive past 10 years of age
We went to get a 2nd opinion and they mentioned that the scan has detected something abnormal but would require a more invasive check to be sure. Our appointment is another 2 weeks time and the results probably a month later.
I have been struggling for the last month trying to come to terms on why God would want this happen to us, the child is innocent and its our first child.
Today's sermon in church was that God has a plan and although we might not see him at work during the work, we must remain strong that God was good, is good and will always be good forever and we just have to trust in Him
Thus my request is to pray for good medical report and also to listen to Him and be at peace and willing to trust His ways
