Good news everybody! Jesus is going to save you from what he's going to do to you if you don't accept what he has done for you.

Is that really good news?

In truth I do not love the bible Jesus, I love the revealed Jesus. He's the one that doesn't come from a book, but a place not bound by leather and ink, a place he can reach us. Jesus is not in a book, the book just testifies about him.

You are playing with words. The real Jesus is seen in the bible, anything else is imagination.

Hi FatalFantasy, you say that you do not love the Bible Jesus, but the revealed Jesus? How is Jesus "revealed" to us if we fail to consider what the Bible tells us about Him?

Also, while you may say that you love some aspect of Him, you don't seem to like what He had to say very much. For instance, here are some very important things that Jesus said to us about eternal life, or the lack thereof.

John 3
16 God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding the point you are making however. Perhaps you'd consider explaining a little bit more to us about what you mean?

Thanks!

--David
p.s. - I have one last question about what you wrote above. Are you saying that Jesus is going to save everyone, whether they want to be saved or not? Thanks again!

I am saying plainly that Jesus doesn't exist in a book, like riven.
No, the bible is not a linking book to heaven, and I don't believe the bible itself can save you.

Only God can save you, and he's not contained in a book, but lives in heaven.

Hi again @FatalFantasy, no one believes that Jesus has ever lived in the Bible. We know that He lives, body and blood, in Heaven, though the fact that He is God as well as human means that His Divine presence is always here and everywhere else too, of course.

The Bible is His story, not Him. Much of it is, in fact, autobiographical, which is good, because w/o His input in His book, the Bible, we would know almost nothing about Him except by conjecture.

You didn't answer most of the questions from my last post, so I'll ask the important ones again.

1. How can we know Jesus, who He really is, what He believes, what He wants and needs us to know and do, etc., if we do not use the Book He wrote for us (granted, except for the Decalogue, humans did the writing, but the words are His nevertheless, the ones He breathed out just for us :)).

2. You say you love Jesus, but you also say that you don't like what He has to say to us. How can you say that you love someone who you seem to neither like nor appreciate?

3. You believe that all of us will end up in Heaven, even those among us who don't want to go there. Why do you think Jesus would do that (force people to spend eternity in Heaven with Him against their will, that is)?

Thanks again!

--David
p.s. - I hope you don't mind, but I have one last question, how can you know the One you call the "revealed" Jesus apart from His Book, the Book that tells us all about Him, the very place He chose to reveal Himself to us?

1. Simple, he reveals himself to us.
2. I read the bible knowing that it was written by people who were seeing a glass darkly.
3. Did I say that, show me where and I'll slap myself.

Do you mean visually/physically, audibly, in another book than the Bible, or perhaps in a letter or an email? On SnapChat :p IOW, how do you believe that He reveals Himself to us/how does He reveal Himself to you .. apart from the Bible?
2. I read the bible knowing that it was written by people who were seeing a glass darkly.
The Bible is the word of God. IOW, it's made up His words alone, whether He spoke them when He lived among us as a man or not, and He is certainly One who can see all things clearly, yes!
3. Did I say that, show me where and I'll slap myself.
You don't need to do that simply because I asked you to clarify something you said ;) In the OP you wrote: Jesus is going to save you from what he's going to do to you if you don't accept what he has done for you. I took that to mean that you believe everyone is going to be saved, even those who don't believe and trust Him (like He told us we need to do), or want anything to do with Him. If I misunderstood your meaning, please tell me what you actually meant instead.

Thanks!

He reveals his invisible nature through the things he has created.

Jesus didn't actually write anything down personally, eye witness and men inspired by the Holy spirit (Amen) wrote his words down, they saw through a glass darkly.

Interesting choice of user name. The Jesus revealed to you had better be consonant with the Jesus revealed in the Bible. It's not that personal revelation doesn't exist, it most certainly does. It's that, as 1jn 1.4 and 1Thess 5 state, there are many spirits in the world, and they have to be tested.

In our wonderful 21st Century Christianity, you can find any flavor of Christianity that pleases you. Pro-gay? No problem. Pro-abortion? That's easy. Not everyone is right.

The answer, in my view, is not rigid authoritarianism or persecution of heretics. Each one is responsible for making sure he's not in error, and make no mistake, God is going to sort it out. There are reasons we have been given so much instruction and admonition in the Bible.

Perhaps.
But that law is gone.
not really.

Matthew 5:18
For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

As far as I can tell, heaven and earth are still here .....
