A very close friend of mine has gone through religions and paganism and is now into Quakers. This friend doesn't read the Bible and still deals with the occult whilst still praying to God. I'm not being judgemental at all but I'm genuinely concerned that the being she is praying to, and apparently receiving answers from is not of God. I hope I'm wrong. This friend has a business involving magick and tarot etc and is not willing to let it go as its earning her money. She is proud of the fact that Quakers are good people and now "belongs" to them and attends meetings regularly. I cant help but wonder if shes pulled to quakerism as they see nothing wrong with any practices their members have, many of which go against bible teachings. I do pray for her but is that enough?

In my opinion, yes that is enough. I have a very close friend that sells coffee and has several coffee shops. I was LDS for many years before converting to Christianity. I thought about preaching to him, but I realized it could ruin our friendship.

Recently he came over to visit and told me how he witnessed a woman commit suicide on the train tracks and was decapitated in front of him and his family. He told me how he directed his family to pray to God instead of looking at the scene. Alhough the situation was tragic, it was also a pleasant surprise to hear that he was actually religious as he never has attended any church.

I think your friend is at least religious, which is a good thing. Perhaps their view of who God is will change over time. You could cleverly share who God is to you if it's not in a preaching way. I would just look for openings in the conversation and try to not be preachy.

IMO, being preachy comes off like disapproval of someone morally. And that can damage a relationship.

HTH :)

Thankyou for your reply. We've been friends for 50 years and she knows what I feel about God and to be honest I wouldnt preach to her. She is her own person and we do share what we feel in our own way. I will carry on praying for her because whatever she believes I do love her. I guess I just want whats best for her spiritually

Many people believe all religions lead to the same point. God has to show her the truth. I once thought the same. In your situation, I would pray for the Lord to reveal Himself to her and the truth of the divination spirit she's dealing with. I would also pray for Him to open an avenue for other revenue so she can forgo her current practices. Most of all, I'd love her. Love and prayer are the best offense in this situation.

Thankyou for replying. I do pray for her and will certainly be more prayerful. I stayed with her a while ago and she went to show me her ex husbands study where he wrote and developed his tarot books, business etc. I took one step in and couldnt go in fully it just felt evil. That was the first time I prayed out loud for her and the house to have Gods protection around it.
I speak to her often and always tell her I love her. We grew up together so its a friendship Im not giving up on xx

The measure of the spirit you encountered is different. It's one thing to practice divination and another to build a business around it and write books. The individual has gone further down the rabbit hole than the user in most cases. The addition of magickal practice adds another dimension and there is a measure of beholdedness to the spirits she's addressing. Only the Lord can free her from that.

I encourage you to put your friend on the prayer list. If the spiritual assignment is large you'll need help and would be subject to attack if you stand against what she's dealing with. Google online prayer request and choose 20 ministries. Write out a prayer for your friend and submit it once per month to all the ministries you've chosen. That will begin the process of loosening. They're well versed in spiritual warfare and know how to stand against it.

While it is possible that she can ask for freedom and be immediately delivered. It is probable there will be a tug-o-war of some degree. Darkness does not relinquish its hold without a battle. But having survived the same I can attest that there is life on the other side. God bless and keep you both.

Does your friend talk to you about her believes and practises? If she does that gives you the oppertunity to ask her.
'Why do you believe that?' or
'What evidence do you have for that belief?'

If she doesn't and you are prepared to start an argument you could Ask her about how she marries not reading the bible with her occult activities.

We have talks about our beliefs every time we chat over the phone. She doesnt go into detail about her practices as shes aware I'm totally not interested though she will tell me she has some writing to do for it. I have tried to advise her that satan can show himself as light but is insistent that its God who responds to her. I wont ever cause a fallout or disagreement and as for the Bible she tells me Quakers dont actually read them. Strange

I don't see anything wrong with the traditional Quaker religion. The Pilgrims were Quakers. Your friend may not be up front with his Church about his private practices. I doubt the Quakers would accept the occult practices. Some new believers hide there sin and are not completely transparent. They want to present themselves as spiritual, obedient, followers of Christ, yet also want to keep their secret life separate and private.

Thanks. I think you hit the nail on the head. The Quakers are good people and I also find nothing wrong but I dont think shes mentioned her other side as it where

My friend now wants to become a Quaker member and was asked about her belief in Christianity which she told me she refused to answer which then gave me the opportunity to bring in testing the spirit and I only just managed to get some of the scripture across. I was very quickly and quite loudly shut down pretty much straight away and she changed the subject. I am now convinced that the being she believes she has been praying to is not Godly.

If she sells that stuff, it's kind of hard to argue that she isn't participating in it in some way. Apart from the spiritual danger to which she's willingly exposing herself, it's really hypocritical for a Christian of any kind to be involved in any level of occult activity.

Don't mistake me for an expert but tarot is way too close to the edge for comfort. And magicks, forget about it, no thanks.

She doesnt sell tarot herself but is involved in magick but doesnt see anything wrong in it. Ive tried bringing scripture into our conversations but she wont hear it nor does she want to know or even try to see that all she is doing goes completely against God yet she tries to call herself Christian. I know longer feel able to help her and after 50 years of friendship Im ready to walk away

You could walk away.

And if she's dabbling in magick, running is a good option too. Do you watch that TV show The Flash? Run like that.

Or walk, that's cool too.

You might have to break down warfare verses for her i think. Duet 18 and Eph 6

Be sure not to make a prayer request to her until you know for a certain she has decided Jesus is the only God. I think all you can do right now is to pray for her.

What else can you do?
I do know one thing for sure (from experience) ...
before God will heal someone (physically, mentally, emotionally),
he/she must REPENT of all involvement in the occult.
That means confessing all involvement ... and STOP doing it (all of it).

And ditto for unforgiveness!
