The Message of the Kingdom was profoundly simple - you didn't need to believe in much in order to be saved back then - no complicated creeds or theologies. And what was it that pleased God the most in the respondents to the message of salvation? They were "god fearing" and "did what was right".

Acts 10:34 Elohim (God) has no favourites, but that in every nation the man that is god fearing and does what is right is acceptable to Him. He send His Davar (Word) to the Israelites and gave the Besorah (Good News, Gospel) of shalom (peace) through Yeshua the Messiah, who is Lord of all.

Why can't it still be that simple? It is that simple for me. I have been blessed I think not to get tangled up in the deep theological minds of some. The deeper you get the more confusing it becomes.

That God fearing and "doing what is right" part is the hardest and yet most profound part.

Sometimes one must go deep in order to combat false doctrines that are based on superficial readings of Scripture.

This is the first step in being acceptable by God. For some it is even before they have read any portion of scripture.
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

I agree with Going deeper.
When the opportunity arises, the believer should take the next step. Yeshua told the freshly healed fellow to not follow or join his disciples but to go back and tell his friends.
Mark5:1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. 2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, ..... 18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.

19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

Lol! A Gd fearing individual does what is right. Ponder that statement, keeping in mind the effort Moses put into writing down what is right...and wrong.

My point being that oversimplifying is as bad as overcomplicating. We are tasked to do what is required- no more, no less. Anything below that or beyond can be a minefield.

Do you understand how the fences the Jews built around Torah is going beyond what is required? It is doing more than what was required. On the other hand, the Christian teaching that Torah is abolished causes one to do far less than what is required. The balance is "do what is required" unless doing more from a heart of love is also doing right. Then more is pleasing in YHWH's sight.

Putting fences around the Torah can be seen as going too far or beyond. We don't see it that way, however.
