To be honest, I have never ever had Spam in my entire life.

Well if you haven't had SPAM you haven't really lived and probably never will

When I was a little girl my mother who was born and raised in Hawaii, would cut Spam in to little chunks, miniature versions of the big chunk it comes in, and mix them with fried potatoes. After she served the "dish" on our dinner plates, I would promptly separate the mixture and eat my potatoes.

I do agree with MizDoulos about the fruits in Hawaii, my fav is the cherimoya!!!!

Just the mere mention of SPAM brings back memories that I have worked a lifetime to repress!!!

Every Sunday my dad would break out the can of SPAM, slice it and fry it.
Then he would make little 'half sandwhiches' (one piece of bread folded over...) and pour mustard on it!

All of us would happily munch the stuff. (*Note this was before I knew better)

I finally got my fill of SPAM when I got a close look at it "raw".

Ran to the bathroom and tossed my SPAM cookies all over the place!

I never ate SPAM since, and it is not allowed in my house. No one is even allowed to whisper its name.

Have you ever been haunted by the sound of the key opening a can of SPAM??? I have. Sure you laugh now, but just wait until youre home alone and its dark and stormy outside, you'll hear its evil 'crink, crink, crink' coming from the cabinet!


I know I have issues, but hey at least I can admit it, that the first step they say.........
