What does that have to do with the meaning of the word religion.

Different folks have different ideas how it should be used. Like I say.. Jesus came to promote a way of life not a religion. Religions are only convenoient to carry messages but they often get lost or misinterpreted along the way because man just can't help themselves seeking gain at the expense of others.

Jesus gave us the perfect religion. That some people fail to live it as they should doesn't take away from what the word religion means.

I think it's more like the religion gave you Jesus since the Mashiach is Yahshua.

I speak English like the OP. When you express your belief about Jesus Christ, you have expressed your religion.
But I never expressed my belief, I expressed my relationship. So I never expressed any religion.

I also speak English (I'm British). The company I work for has offices in France and in New York. I have clearer conversations with my colleagues in France than I do with my colleagues in the USA.

It is claimed that Winston Churchill once said:
"The United States and Great Britain are two countries separated by a common language."
He was right!

So it seems the controversy is just how one defines the term "religion". Maybe we are all really in agreement? My definition is perhaps too simple and so I define Christianity as a "religion" in the sense it is one of the "religions" of the world. HERE for example.

Jesus gave us the perfect religion.

Again, no Jesus gave us a way of life which ran contrary to the world of man. Man created a religion out of it and turned it back into an institution that served the world of man instead of the Kingdom. Before Christianity was known as a religion it was first seen as a contrary way of life lead by people who were seen as haters of mankind.

God knew this would happen but it was the best way (the Jews already being scattered and ignored by the gentile church) to forward the Gospel of the Kingdom lost inside a gentile religion focused instead on the world of man.

If your way of life is your expression of a belief in God, then it is religion.

God's will to be more accurate... and yes a religion can be used to serve the purpose of man's will also. So religion is really of no importance, but rather what is followed, the will of man or the will of God.

I guarantee you there will be no religion in the Kingdom, just the same way of life that Jesus taught.

If following God is your expression of belief then that is your religion.
