A couple of days ago, I was fishing at Haulover inlet near Miami Beach, FL with my Dad when I caught this wired looking fish that had a torpedo shaped snout, Brown spots, and very sharp teeth on a 3/4 oz. silver Johnson weedless spoon. Even for me, as someone interested in marine biology, took a couple of days to find out what species of fish I caught that day. So today, I found out that the fish I caught a couple of days ago, which was 12 3/4" long, was a lizardfish. I also found out its considered a trash fish. It didn't put up much of a fight with me. But to me, a catch is a catch, nevertheless.
Lizardfish are bottom dwelling fish that are found in tropical and subtropical ocean waters worldwide.

And I caught a couple of more lizardfish today. One at the Haulover Inlet and the other in Dania Beach. The lizardfish that I caught in Haulover today actually kind of gave me quite a tug and fight on my rod. And that fish fought harder compared to the fish I caught a few days before.
