Just overheard something on TV while my parents were watching it that said married people live longer than celibates. My worrisome self didn't need to hear that. :destroyed:

You're still young, and the time might just not be right for you to be in a relationship. I don't think you need be concerned.

That's actually probably complete BS that you heard, Miss Multi (it was on TV, after all). I sincerely doubt there is any scientific basis for a correlation between marital status and length of life at all - each path certainly has its natural advantages and disadvantages; I would not worry about that for a second.

By the way, I would like to just say that it appears much time has been spent today amongst several members here trying to help one another in each of their particular worries and struggles - @Wayholka, @LaBèlla , @Multifavs , @CodyFaith , and a few others. You are all to be commended, if my personal view of what is most important in how Christians truly should display themselves before the world can mean anything to you. Just wanted to say it was uplifting to see all of this - the practical, non-judgmental advice, support, etc. here over the past day or so.

Thanks for comforting me about that previous post I made, everyone. :) Actually now that I think about it, the study being mentioned was probably from a long time ago. Maybe what they mean is that being celibate can make you lonely which is bad. But as long as you have good friends, you're not lonely. ;) I just tend to get worried too quickly. :p

Thank you! It is wonderful to see such helpfulness, isn't it? :) I appreciate everyone's help. :purpleheart: I hope I have not been too much trouble for you all recently with my struggles and worries bothering me again. I was doing better for a while before that, hopefully things will be better in the future as well. And I wish the best for all of you this year. ^-^

Not at all, Multi. Even if people happened to normally consider the kinds of concerns you bring up as being troublesome, you are already such a likeable person that it ends up not seeming troublesome at all. Certainly not to me your fellow knight, or to your beau @Anthony7 , anyway.

Even if there is correlation, it doesn't mean there is causation.

Expect me to use that gif a lot now that I actually found it. It's a sight gag from one episode in one of precious few animes that I will always be a fan of no matter how old I get, Magic Knight Rayearth, a delightful fantasy tale that greatly appealed to me as a kid. I always loved this one part where, as you can see in the gif, the red-headed girl Hikaru speaks of a wish to see someone named Hikari again even though she is now trapped in another world entirely, and the blue-haired girl Umi overhears and thinks that Hikaru is speaking of a boyfriend or someone she has a crush on back on Earth or something, so that's why Umi is giving that comedic wink-wink-nudge-nudge motion there in the gif. (It turns out Hikari is simply the name of Hikaru's pet dog. ^_^ )

I had a Harry Potter moment after reading Knight's post.

Okay everyone... let's have it. What house were you sorted in?
Gryffendor :cool::smoke:

Also hi I'm Cody. Come from a background of almost converting to Orthodox Judaism after being raised in a Christian home... until Jesus called me back to him. I learned a lot with my Judaism experience though and gained a different insight into the Christian faith that shaped who I am now. For example, currently observing Shabbat (in my own personal way though). I tend to keep that aspect to myself so it's nice to see another member on here somewhat similar.

I actually only just now started reading one of the Harry Potter books (the third one in the series, I believe) by chance, and before that I barely knew a thing about it other than the general plot and a few of the characters' names, so I can't say I am quite knowledgeable of what each of the four houses represents, enough to give a satisfactory answer, anyway. ^-^ I guess the one house that sounds the coolest of the four would be Gryffindoor, at least. ^_^

I'm glad to help.

Sunrise to sunset is easy to remember and maintain. The subject has never come up in my quiet time. We already have a biblical and Jewish calendar to keep up with! I'll see if I have anything in my notes on the subject. Have you asked in the Messianic forum? If they don't know you can check on Chabad or The Orthodox Union.
Thanks again, asking on the Messianic forum is a good idea. I didn't even know we had a Messianic forum, lol.

I haven't watched Star Trek Discovery yet, but I was surprisingly impressed by The Orville.

I'm not familiar with anything else Seth MacFarlane has done, but from what I know of him I had a feeling that his brand of humour wasn't going to be for me. So I went into the show with not many expectations, but found myself enjoying it.

The jokes don't always work, but the important thing is that the episodes aren't just vehicles for the jokes. Instead the stories are generally straight out of the Star Trek playbook, with situations that the Enterprise and its crew wouldn't look out of place in (although they'd probably do a much better job of handling it).
I'm not a fan of Seth McFarlane's animated shows, but I should probably check out the Orville. Most of what I've heard suggests that I'd like it.
