what about churches that worship on Saturday and Sunday? Like vespers on Saturday and liturgy on Sunday?
Any thoughts?

The commandment if God is to rest on the Sabbath not to worship. So worshipping on Sunday or any other day of the week is not forbidden by God’s commandment concerning the Sabbath.

“So why would you allow anyone to judge you because of what you eat or drink, or insist that you keep the feasts, observe new moon celebrations, or the Sabbath? All of these were but a prophetic shadow and the evidence of what would be fulfilled, for the body is now Christ!”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:16-17‬ ‭

“Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions. One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only. The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him. Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:1-6‬ ‭NASB‬‬

So if you agree with the 7th day sabbath, do you also agree that no work should be done, more specifically:

refraining from any sort of cooking on sabbath.
Not driving on the sabbath (since Fires cannot be started or extinguished on Sabbath)
Using electronic devices on sabbath
Using any money money on the sabbath
Using indoor lights on the sabbath
Writing on the sabbath.

You’re following Jewish law about the sabbath, therefore should follow all the rules of the sabbath, yes?
It makes no sense to cherry pick from the Old Testament.

Hi Bipolargirl, good questions. Yes we have a preparation day which is normally Friday (before sunset) as shown in the post on the first page. Although we use all the week to get our personal work done before the Sabbath starts which is FRIDAY SUNSET to SATURDAY SUNSET according to God's Word. There is no JEWISH SABBATH as there was no JEWS when the SABBATH was made for ALL mankind *MARK 2:27-28. There was also no ISRAEL. It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath *MATTHEW 12:1-12. We do not do any buying and selling and using of money or business, shopping, or secular or domestic work on God's SABBATH.

May God bless you as you seek him through his Word.

Jesus Christ is the sabbath and not the sabbath day(don't misquote me please). In mark 12:8, He says He is lord of the sabbath day.
The Word sabbath is 'sabat' which means rest or stop/cease from work. In Genesis, God created for six days and rested on the seventh day. It doesn't mean God was tired but he set a precedent. He set this as a principle for His people to rest from all their labouring. Taking all accounts of the sabbath, one can see how the sabbath rest is pointing to our messiah. The law made man work and labour for God's forgiveness. In Jesus, we find rest for there is no more labouring.

Also in scripture, we note that God made the sabbath Holy, sanctified and blessed it. In John 10:36,
“do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?”
Jesus is the holy, perfect son of God who was sanctified by the Father.

“For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:10‬ ‭

The SABBATH is the SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK *GENESIS 2:1-3; EXODUS 20:8-11. Where does it say in God's WORD that JESUS is a SABBATH? It doesn't.

Hello Dan, nice to see you. I might break this response into many smaller posts.
NOWHERE does the New Testament teach that keeping the Sabbath day is binding on Christians under the New Covenant. Sabbath keeping with all it's rules and regulations, was part of a covenant with Israel that is not binding on Christians under the New Covenant.
What you are really trying to say here is that we do not need to believe the OLD TESTAMENT scriptures or the NEW TESTAMENT scriptures. According to God's WORD, God's 4th commandment is one of God's 10 commandments that give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSALMS 119:172.

According to God's WORD, ALL those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will not enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN *HEBREWS 10:26-27 because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23. OBEDIENCE to God's LAW is not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of God's work in us as we BELIEVE and FOLLOW his WORD. If our faith has no fruit it is dead *JAMES 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *MATTHEW 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50. We are saved by GRACE through faith and not of ourselves it is a gift of God *EPHESIANS 2:8. We are all sick with sin and need a Physician *MATTHEW 9:12-13. JESUS says arise take up your bed and walk. I believe him. How about you? God's ISRAEL in the NEW COVENANT is all those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD. If we are not a part of God's ISRAEL then we have no part in the NEW COVENANT *HEBREWS 8:10-12. Gentiles are now grafted in *ROMANS 11:13-27.

HEBREWS 4:9 SO THEN IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH. (Aramaic Bible in Plain English).

NOTE: In HEBREWS 4:9, the Greek word for “rest” is sabbatismos, which is a Hebrew word—Sabbat, which means “the Sabbath”—combined with a Greek suffix—ismos, which means “a keeping of” or “a doing of.” Put together, sabbatismo means “a keeping of the Sabbath.” When correctly translated, Hebrews 4:9 should read, “There remains therefore a keeping of the Sabbath to the people of God.” Most translation it is there remains a Sabbath rest to the people of God which is also fine considering the context of HEBREWS 4:1-5 which is GOD'S REST in the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH of creation.

Sorry my friend, God's WORD disagrees with you.

*Colossians 2:16 - Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day 17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

You claim that COLOSSIANS 2:16-17 is in reference to God's 4th commandment. Your error here is that you mix up the Shadow laws and sabbaths (plural) from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT *DEUTERONOMY 31:26; EXODUS 24:7 with God's eternal LAW (10 Commandments) that give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSLAMS 119:172. Let's see why by adding the CONTEXT back in that you left out.

Also I am not sure if you did it on purpose or not but the GREEK word used for sabbath here is sabbath{S} or sabbath day{S} not day. The GREEK is genetive neutral plural meaning more then one as a collective. The CONTEXT is the shadow laws from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT not God's 10 commandments.

By quoting COLOSSIANS 2:16 you are mixing up the Shadow laws from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7 with God's eternal law that give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTOEUSNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSALMS 119:172.

These ceremonial Sabbath days from the MOSAIC BOOK of the OLD COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7 were not God's 4th Commandment of the 10 Commandments but were connected to annual festivals and could fall on ANY DAY of the week depending on the yearly cycle (please read LEVITICUS 23;24-39).

These ceremonial "SPECIAL" Sabbaths (plural) were connected to..

* Annual festival of The blowing of trumpet (Leviticus 23:24)
* Annual Day of Atonement (Leviticus 23:32)
* Annual Feast of tabernacles (Leviticus 23:39)

These "SPECIAL" Sabbath could fall on any day and were connected directly to these festivals that were prophetic in nature pointing to Jesus and God's plan of Salvation in the NEW COVENANT.

Here are a few examples of where Paul is quoting from in the OLD TESTAMENT...

COLOSSIANS 2:16 [16] Let no man therefore judge you in MEAT, or in DRINK, or in respect of an HOLYDAY [FEASTIVALS], or of the NEW MOON, or of the SABBATH DAYS <plural>:

PAUL'S references from the OLD TESTAMENT...

EZEKIEL 45:17 [17] And it shall be the prince's part to give BURNT OFFERINGS, and MEAT OFFERINGS, and DRINK OFFERINGS, in the FEASTS, and in the NEW MOONS, and in the SABBATHS, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel.

NUMBERS 28 [9] And on the Sabbath day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth deals of flour for a MEAT OFFERING, mingled with oil, and the DRINK OFFERING thereof: [10] This is the burnt offering of EVERY SABBATH, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.

There’s the meat and drink offerings for the monthly and annual festival sabbath days that Col.2 [16] was speaking of. This was not a weekly requirement for the 4th commandment of God’s Law (Exodus 20:8-11)

EZEKIEL 46 [6] And in the day of the NEW MOON it shall be a young bullock without blemish, and six lambs, and a ram: they shall be without blemish. [7] And he shall prepare a MEAT OFFERING, an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and for the lambs according as his hand shall attain unto, and an hin of oil to an ephah.

LEVITICUS 23:4 [4] These are THE FEASTS OF THE LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. [5] In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is THE LORD'S PASSOVER. [6] And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread…… [13] And the MEAT OFFERING thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto the Lord for a sweet savour: and the DRINK OFFERING thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin.

HOSEA 2:11 [11], I will also cause all her mirth to CEASE, HER [ISRAEL'S] FEAST DAYS, her NEW MOONS, and HER SABBATHS, and all HER [ISRAELS] SOLEMN FEASTS.

ISAIAH 1:10-14 [10] Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.[11] To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I AM FULL OF THE BURNT OFFERINGS of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.[12] When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?[13] BRING NO MORE VAIN OBLATIONS; incense is an abomination unto me; THE NEW MOONS AND SABBATHS, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.[14] Your new moons and your APPOINTED FEASTS my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.

wait for it back to the NEW...

HEBREWS 9:1-12 [1] Then verily THE FIRST COVENANT HAD ALSO ORDINANCES of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.... [9] WHICH WAS A FIGURE for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;[10] WHICH STOOD ONLY IN MEATS AND DRINKS, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.[12] NEITHER BY THE BLOOD OF GOATS AND CALVES, BUT BY HIS OWN BLOOD he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

HEBREWS 10:1-9
[1], FOR THE LAW HAVING A SHADOW OF GOOD THINGS TO COME, AND NOT THE CERY IMAGE OF THE THINGS, CAN NEVER WITH THOSE SACRIFICES which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
[2], For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
[3], But in those SACRIFICES there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
[4], For it is not possible that THE BLOOD OF BULLS AND GOATS should take away sins.
[5], Why when he comes into the world, he said, SACRIFICES AND OFFERINGS YOU WOULD NOT BUT A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME:
[6], IN BURN'T OFFERINGS AND SACRIFICES
FOR SIN YOU HAVE HAD NO PLEASURE.
[7], Then said I, See, I come in the VOLUME OF THE BOOK IT IS WRITTEN OF ME, to do your will, O God.
[8], Above when he said, SACRIFICES AND OFFERINGS AND BURNT OFFERINGS AND OFFERINGS FOR SIN YOU WOULD NOT, neither had pleasure therein; WHICH ARE OFFERED BY THE LAW;
[9], Then said he, See, I come to do your will, O God. He takes away the first, that he may establish the second.

NOTE; the LAW in reference here is NOT God's 10 Commandments but the law of sin offereings from the SHADOW laws of the MOSAIC BOOK of the LAW *DEUTERONOMY 31:24-26 from the OLD COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7 (Please look at the attached scriptures)

Brother can you see the connections here between the OLD and NEW TESTAMENT scriptures Paul is referring to here? These are only a few scripture examples posted here. If your interested and wish to see more OLD and NEW TESTAMENT scripture examples for COL 2 please visit this thread click me.

So your understanding of COLOSSIANS 2:16 in regards to MEAT and DRINK here is incorrect as PAUL is discussing the MEAT AND DRINK offerings not what we are eating and drinking and also the CEREMONIAL sabbaths in the annual festivals given to ISRAEL in the OLD COVENANT NOT God's 10 commandments that give is the KNOWLEDGE of what sin is if broken in the NEW COVENANT *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4.

Can you see what PAUL is talking about in COL 2 from the OLD TESTAMENT scriptures? Sorry God's WORD disagrees with you. Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it over the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandmetns of God *MATTHEW 15:3-9.

Hope this helps

Even when Sabbatarians set out to worship on the Sabbath, are they truly "keeping the Sabbath?" To "keep the Sabbath" as it was required in the Old Testament under the Old Covenant would involve compliance with specific regulations (Exodus 16:23; 35:3; Leviticus 23:32; Jeremiah 17:21) that were strictly enforced.

Not very hard it is a delight to rest on God's SABBATH and not do our own work according to God's WORD making it a day of REST with GOD. Why do you think it is a hard thing not to work? Your use of LEVITICUS 23:32 however is an error as this is one of the SHADOW sabbaths from the ANNUAL JEWISH festivals that could fall on any day of the week. In this case it is attached to the ANNUAL DAY of ATONEMENT. Not God's 4th commandment.

If Sabbath day observances are still required, so would the burnt offerings which went along with them (Leviticus 19:30; 23:2-3; Numbers 28:1-10; 29:39-40; I Chronicles. 23:30-31; II Chronicles 31:2-4; Isaiah 1:13). So no kindling a fire in any of your dwellings on the sabbath (Exodus 35:3). Every man must remain in his place on the sabbath (Exodus 16:29). No trading (Amos 8:5). No marketing (Nehemiah 10:31; 13:15,19).

Well that is not true. We are in the NEW COVENANT not the OLD COVENANT. Where does it say in God's 4th Commandment from the 10 commandments that we are to do burn't offerings on God's SEVENTH DAY SABBATH? Here let's look at God's 4th Commandment.

EXODUS 20:8-11 [8], REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, TO KEEP IT HOLY [Made Holy at creation GENESIS 2:3]. [9], Six days shall you labor, and do all your work: [10], But THE SEVENTH DAY [ Genesis 2:1-3] IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD YOUR GOD : in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates: [WHY?] [11], FOR IN SIX DAYS THE LORD MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH, THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM IS, AND RESTED THE SEVENTH DAY; WHEREFORE THE LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH DAY AND MADE IT HOLY. [Refering to GENESIS 2:1-3]

Yep nothing about having to do burn't offereing on the Sabbath. In the OLD TESTAMENT burn't offereing were done every day of the week, twice on the Sabbath of God's 4th commandment and also during the Jewish ANNUAL festivals of LEVITICUS 23. These were all SHADOW laws from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT *DEUTERONOMY 31:26; EXODUS 24:7. Your error here is that you mis up God's SHADOW laws from the MOSAIC BOOK of the OLD COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7 with God's eternal LAW (10 Commandments) that give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSLAMS 119:172.

Sorry my friend God's WORD disagrees with you.

These were commanded by God to Israel (Exodus 35:1).

In the NEW COVENANT God's ISRAEL are all those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD * EPHESIANS 2:11-13; GALATIANS 3:28-29; ROMANS 9:6-8; ROMANS 2:28-29; COLOSSIANS 3:11. If you are not a part of God's ISRAEL you have no part in the NEW COVENANT *HEBREWS 10:26-27. Gentiles are now grafted in *ROMANS 11:13-27. God's WORD disagrees with you.

Don't me misled by misguided teachers of the law. The word "Sabbath" first appears in Exodus 16:23 - Then he said to them, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Tomorrow is a Sabbath rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord. Bake what you will bake today, and boil what you will boil; and lay up for yourselves all that remains, to be kept until morning. If every man from Adam to Moses kept the Sabbath, why is the Hebrew word for the weekly Sabbath found in the Ten Commandments, never found in the book of Genesis? Why is no one before Moses ever being told to keep the Sabbath? Why are there no examples of anyone keeping the Sabbath before Moses?

Not really this is simply a misleading statement playing on words. Let's see why from God's WORD and show the origin of God's 4th commandment comes from the creation week in GENESIS 2:1-3. Let's look at the scriptures.

WHERE IS THE SABBATH IN GENESIS 2:1-3?

GOD's 4th Commandment is refering to GENESIS 2:1-3 in EXODUS 20:8-11.

GENESIS 2:1-3
[1], Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
[2], And ON THE SEVENTH DAY God ended his work which he had made; and he RESTED [שׁבת; shâbath H7673; Keep Sabbath] on the SEVENTH DAY from all his work which he had made.
[3], And GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY AND MADE IT HOLY: because that in it he had RESTED [שׁבת; shâbath H7673; Keep Sabbath] from all his work which God created and made.

Links to God’s 4th Commandment

Not hard read the scripture. Look at the HEBREW WORD meanings again...

GENESIS 2:1-3 [1], Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

The Hebrew word for RESTED used here is שׁבת; shâbath (H7673). It's meaning is; to repose, that is, desist from exertion; used in many implied relations (causatively, figuratively or specifically): - (cause to, let, make to) cease, celebrate, cause (make) to fail, KEEP SABBATH, suffer to be lacking, leave, put away (down), (make to) rest, rid, still, take away.

שׁבת; shâbath or REST (H7673) is the ORIGIN or ROOT word for שׁבּת; shabbâth (H7676) which is used in God's 4th commandments translated into english as SABBATH. The HEBREW Word for shabbâth meaing is the intermission between SABBATHS or shâbath (H7673) REST or the continuation meaing from one SABBATH REST to the Next SABBATH REST continuation or EVERY SABBATH. It's application is in God's 4th commandment EXODUS 20:8 is to REMEMBER [EVERY] Sabbath [shabbâth H7676].

In the 4th commandment *EXODUS 20:8-11; v11 tells us the ORIGINS of God's 4th commandments Sabbath is in reference to GENESIS 2:1-3 and the reason why it is given as a memorial of Greation to whorship God as the creator of Heaven and Earth.

...............

Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries w/TVM, Strong - H7673
REST from GENESIS 2:1-3 שׁבת ;shâbath shaw-bath' A primitive root; to REPOSE, that is, desist from exertion; used in many implied relations (causatively, figuratively or specifically): - (cause to, let, make to) cease, CELEBRATE, cause (make) to fail, KEEP SABBATH, suffer to be lacking, leave, put away (down), (make to) REST, rid, still, take away.

Can you see your error here brother?

The Word of God makes it quite clear that Sabbath observance was a sign between God and Israel: “The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested” (Exodus 31:16-17).

Already addressed through the scriptures in the previous section. In the NEW COVENANT God's ISRAEL (the Church) are all those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD * EPHESIANS 2:11-13; GALATIANS 3:28-29; ROMANS 9:6-8; ROMANS 2:28-29; COLOSSIANS 3:11. If you are not a part of God's ISRAEL you have no part in the NEW COVENANT *HEBREWS 10:26-27. Gentiles are now grafted in *ROMANS 11:13-27. Sorry my friend, God's WORD disagrees with you.

*Although God's rest on the seventh day (Genesis 2:3) did foreshadow a future Sabbath law, there is no Biblical record of the Sabbath before the children of Israel left the land of Egypt. *Nowhere in Scripture is there any hint that Sabbath keeping was practiced from Adam to Moses.

BEFORE the written word there was the spoken Word of God. This statement is an argument in silence and presumption as you cannot prove that God’s SEVENTH DAY Sabbath was not kept or known by the patrarchs. Yet there is more scriptures confirming that the Patriachs did follow and obey all of God’s laws. Let’s look at the scriptures.

In GENESIS 2:1-3 we see the ORIGEN of the SABBATH which GOD said that on the SEVENTH DAY of the creation week he RESTED and BLESSED and setting it apart from the other days of the week as a HOLY DAY. Mankind was created on the 6th day of the week *GENESIS 1:26-28. The SABBATH was made before sin and the fall of mankind and kept with ADAM and EVE in the garden of Eden. This is shown in the words of Jesus himself as he says that the SABBATH was made for mankind *MARK 2:27, If God created mankind on the 6th DAY of the creation week and made the SABBATH on the SEVENTH DAY of the creation week for mankind then ADAM and EVE kept the SABBATH and knew about it.

If ADAM and EVE kept the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH and knew about it then so did their descendance through the spoken Word of God. Before Mt Sinai and before the slavery of God’s people to the Egyptians mankind had the spoken Word from God handed down from our first parants and Adam and Eve and God himself. God told Adam not to eat of the fruit of the knowledge of Good and Evil. Either God or Adam told Eve. *GENESIS 2:16-18; GENESIS 3:1-6. This was before mankind sinned and were in perfect harmony with God. After mankind had sinned *GENESIS 3 and had been given the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and to do EVIL, mankind was given more of the spoken Word of God outlining God’s plan of salvation for mankind *GENESIS 3:14-19.

When CAIN and ABEL were born it is clear from God’s WORD that there was SIN offerings for remission of sin as shown in GENESIS 4:1-7. We are latter told that ENOCH and NOAH walked with God *GENESIS 5:24; GENESIS 6:8 so were following God’s ways. In NOAHS time the thoughts of men were only evil continually *GENESIS 6:5-7. Jesus says that what defiles a man is an evil heart that breaks God’s commandments *MATTHEW 15:16:19. Before the Flood God made his Covenant with NOAH and his decendance *GENESIS 9:1-9.

When Abraham was present God spoke to Abraham and made his covenant with him and his descendance *GENESIS 15:18. 17:2-19. God said of Abraham that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. The HEBREW word used for laws is TORAH *GENESIS 25:5.

So, it is very clear that the spoken WORD of GOD included God’s Commandments. Not only as the KNOWLEDGE of what GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS were *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; JOHN 3:4'SALMS 119:172, but also the SHADOW laws for remission of sin [FORGIVENESS] if any of God’s laws were broken. If they had no law then they would have no knowledge of what sin is or how to seek God's forgiveness for sin. If they did not know what sin was there would have been no need of sin offerings BEFORE EXODUS 20. Yet here we also see in GENESIS 22:2-7 that it was a regular practice for Abraham and his family to offer burnt offerings for sin. So before Mt Sinai God’s people had the spoken Word of God after slavery to the Egyptians they received the written Word of God but through all this time God’s people had a knowledge of what sin was and what to do if sin was committed.

God said in *GENESIS 4:7 to Cain when he was angry because he did not worship God in his appointed way that by doing this it was sin. Jesus say the same in *MATTHEW 15:3-9 that if we follow and teachings of men that break the commandments of God we are not following God. Mankind was destroyed by a flood because of sin *GENESIS 6:5-7. Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed because of sin *GENESIS 18:20.

Jacob knew about sin BEFORE Mt Sinia when he complained to Laben when he left with his daughters *GENESIS 31:36. When Potiphar’s wife came to Joseph with the aim of committing adultery, Joseph knew it was sin and protested saying how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? *GENESIS 39:9.

As time goes by God detroys mankind for evil and sin with a flood as well as Sodom and Gommorah with fire and the Epyptians with plagues *GENESIS 6:5-13; GENESIS 13:10-13; 18:20-33; 19:24; EXODUS 9:13-14. If there was no knowledge of sin there would be no punishment for it. God’s WORD is very clear that all of God’s Commandments were kept by God’s people before the written WORD through the Spoken WORD of GOD.

It is pretty clear my friend once again by reading the scriptures God's WORD disagrees with you.

In Deuteronomy 5, Moses restates the Ten Commandments to the next generation of Israelites. Here, after commanding Sabbath observance in verses 12–14, Moses gives the reason the Sabbath was given to the nation Israel: “Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day” (Deuteronomy 5:15).

You are confused. The reason why God gave his 4th Commandment is stated in God's 4th commandment.

Hope this helps

If the seventh day Sabbath is still in affect, then why do not the Sabbatarians seek to obey ALL that the LORD commanded? How can a person keep a certain law when he keeps only part of it?

Your mixing up the Shadow laws and sabbaths (plural) from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT *DEUTERONOMY 31:26; EXODUS 24:7 with God's eternal LAW (10 Commandments) that give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSLAMS 119:172. If you do not know what the OLD COVENANT was and the SHADOW laws were from the MOSAIC BOOK of the law *EXODUS 24:7; DEUTERONOMY 31:24-26 that pointed to JESUS and God's plan of salvation in the NEW COVENANT how can you understand the NEW COVENANT that the OLD pointed to?

Hope this helps.

If the Sabbath day laws were still in effect today, then according to Exodus 31:12-18; 35:1-3; and Numbers 15:32-36, anyone who profaned the Sabbath was put to death and any person who does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from his people. Who is going to enforce that? The Jewish synagogue? The Seventh day Adventist church? The Government? Since we do not live under a theocratic state as ancient Israel did under the Old Covenant, no Sabbatarian can live consistently under these Mosaic regulations

We are in the NEW COVENANT now. Nearly all God's 10 commandments under the OLD COVENANT had the death penalty attached to them under the CIVIL laws of ISRAEL if they were broken not just God's 4th commandment *DEUTERONOMY 13:6-18; 1 SAMUEL 26:19; DEUTERONOMY 13:1-10; 17:2-5; 27:15; DEUTERONOMY 7:25-26; LEVITICUS 24:10-17; EXODUS 31:14-15; 35:2; LEVITICUS 20:9; DEUTERONOMY 21:18-21; EXODUS 21:17; EXODUS 21:12-14; LEVITICUS 20; JOHN 8:5; EXODUS 21:16; DEUTERONOMY 19:15-21. That was to teach God's people the wages of SIN (breaking any one of God's 10 commandments) is death as it does in the NEW COVENANT *ROMANS 6:23 although JESUS says vengence us mine at his 2nd coming *ROMANS 12:17-19; REVELATION 22:12.

God's 4th commandment is one of the 10 commandments that gives us the KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is when broken *ROMANS 3:20. God's WORD says if we break ANY ONE of God's commandments we stand guilty before God of SIN *JAMES 2:10-11. If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

God's people are in every church *JOHN 10:16 and He knows that many break this commandment out of IGNORANCE because what they have been taught in the Churches they may be in. JESUS says that the hour is coming and NOW is that he will call his people out from following the teachings and tradtions of men to worship God in Spirit and in truth according to his WORD *JOHN 4:23-24

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9) There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God? In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

Hope this helps.

The commandment if God is to rest on the Sabbath not to worship. So worshipping on Sunday or any other day of the week is not forbidden by God’s commandment concerning the Sabbath.

The problem is not when we worship GOD we should worship God every day of the week. The problem is when we break God's 4th Commandment by working on it we commit sin *JAMES 2:10-11; 1 JOHN 3:4. It is SIN (breaking God's Commandment) that separates us from God *ISAIAH 59:2.

Hi Sister. Yes if you like or you can go on a trip into God's nature or go to church with like minded believers. The day is to spend time with God (no work) and remember JESUS as our Saviour and God of all creation. God's WORD also says not to forsake the assembling of yourself together with likeminded believers *HEBREWS 10:25. JESUS as our example went to Church on the Sabbath as did all the disciples and APOSTLES. There is no command in the commandment to do so however and God's WORD also says the Church are the people. So where two or three are gathered together in the name of JESUS He is with us wherever we may be MATTHEW 18:20.

God bless

So if you agree with the 7th day sabbath, do you also agree that no work should be done, more specifically:

refraining from any sort of cooking on sabbath.
Not driving on the sabbath (since Fires cannot be started or extinguished on Sabbath)
Using electronic devices on sabbath
Using any money money on the sabbath
Using indoor lights on the sabbath
Writing on the sabbath.

You’re following Jewish law about the sabbath, therefore should follow all the rules of the sabbath, yes?
It makes no sense to cherry pick from the Old Testament.

No mention of electricity in the Bible. People that are not even trying to keep the Sabbath have a lot of rules generally that are not even in the Bible when it comes to Sabbath keeping. Then when they finally accept that it is one of the Ten commandments and that it is important - they then settle for those things actually in the Bible.

Jesus Christ is the sabbath

I assume you are now quoting "you"

Also in scripture, we note that God made the sabbath Holy, sanctified and blessed it.

true.

In John 10:36,
“do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?”

also true - that is what that text says

“For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:10‬ ‭

also true - that is what that text says

So, can I just stay at home on Saturday and privately worship and go to church on Sunday?

Acts 18:4 "every Sabbath" Jews and gentiles gathered in the synagogue for worship and gospel preaching.

Lev 23:2-3 Seventh day Sabbath is a "day of solemn assembly", "holy convocation"
Is 66:23 - "from Sabbath to Sabbath shall all mankind come before Me to worship"
Is 58:13 an entire day of no secular activity
