Is it possible for one to "fall away" or lose salvation once saved, and what does "falling away"?

If a believer will not take the mark then why is there a warning against doing so? The warning would be senseless if such a thing were not possible for a believer to do. Are you 100% certain that you would not do so under extreme duress/persecution? Do you have crystal ball? Don't forget that Peter also was 100% sure that he would never deny Jesus and yet we know that he denied Jesus not once but three times. Furthermore, explain to me why you wouldn't take the mark? After all, you believe you can't lose your salvation no matter what so go ahead and take it right?
The warning of not taking the mark of the beast is not directed at believers, but rather at nonbelievers.
It is impossible for a child of God to receive the mark of the beast.
Just like believers cannot be demon possessed .
It doesn't jive with The Holy Spirit.

Is it possible for one to "fall away" from, or lose salvation once saved, and what does "falling away" mean...? What does it look like...?

Can we define who is one who is, or has, "fallen away"...?

Discussion...?

God Bless!

When you are saved you are converted into a new being, in return once you are saved you can not be unsaved unless you decide to be.

But I highly dought it as the conversation keeps you living the right way, following the ten commandments.

Jesus was asked what do you have to do to be saved?

Jesus answered him and said, follow the commandments.

OK I found the answer:

Galatians 5:4
You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.

Those with faith need never fear.
Those who revert to judging others by the law,
will die by the law. (stated in other passages)

What Does the Bible Say About Judging Others?
So, it's about the law and works based systems then...? And being always critical and judgmental criticizing and condemning of others, proud of and in self, and belittling others in their hearts, showing class distinctions among themselves... Hateful, Jealous, envious, bitter, angry, but very good at hiding it sometimes.. They are the wolves in sheep's clothing...?

They fall away by going back to that, or the law and works and self-effort and self-will and trying to get others to do the same, or join him or her in doing the same, ect, after tasting the gift of Grace, but denying or rejecting it in, or by, or in the end, ect....?

God Bless!

No one ever loses salvation.
One cannot lose that which they never received.
Or truly had in the first place, right...?

Well, that gets into a whole (range of) other topic(s) now, doesn't it...?

God Bless!

Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?" Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, "You must be born again.' (John 3:3-7)

A person will not take the mark who is a believer and if one is tempted to, more than likely God will either give them grace to resist or will take their life.
I think you are underestimating the deception that Satan will bring onto the world during the great tribulation.

What you are saying is essentially that it is impossible for someone that believes in Jesus to take the mark. This doesn't line up with scripture, for example, why would Jesus say that "He who endures till the end will be saved" if someone who is already saved can't lose it? There would be no point in saying that, unless there is a possibility of someone who believes there are saved, can still lose it at a later point.

Also, the book of Hebrews is clear how hard it is for someone to return to Christ after they have rejected Him. (Hebrews 6:4) Notice, these are people that "tasted" the heavenly calling, yet fell away. How can someone taste the heavenly calling if they didn't at one point believe?

This teaching of 'once saved always saved' is a very dangerous teaching because someone could take the mark of the beast and still believe that they are saved because of this teaching. That is playing with fire, my friends. Don't fall for that lie.

Jesus never teaches that, rather He says we must abide in Him so we don't get cut off and thrown in the fire, and we must keep our lamps burning so we are not like the foolish virgins who weren't prepared for their husbands return.

If not, we will be found sleeping when our Lord comes a knocking.

In peace

Also

In Matthew 19:16, Jesus was asked what must be done to inherit eternal life. His answer: “If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments” (Matthew 19:17). Jesus then listed several, including enough of the Ten Commandments to make clear which commandments He meant: “ ‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself’ ” (Matthew 19:18-19).

Said that to who now...? and about or concerning what exactly...? What is the entire parable or story about or what does it mean...?

Jesus mainly only dealt with Jews under the Law also... And He (Jesus) also knew that was what the man thought was the answer also, or was how and what he (the man) had already thought or was thinking when he approached Jesus with the question...? And there are other things about it also, when taken it's entire context and such, (Matthew 19:16-30 in it's context)... (actually it's entire context is also continued on into Matthew 20 also)...

God Bless!

Some may try to debate you on that, for if we cannot lose it and we cannot earn or deserve it, how do we have free will, ect...?

Also discussions about omniscience, predestination, ect...?

It's quite possible to despise God after being saved. People get their feelings hurt from troubles in life and then are tempted to blame God. The devil tempts and tries man into despising God: Matthew 6:24.

A good example of this is in Job 1:12. Job could have taken offense to God giving power to Satan to afflict him. But Job didn't. Which is probably why it is in the scriptures :)

I'm less interested in what happens to or with them, but much more with "who they are", ect...? How to identify such ones...? Where would you find them, ect...?

God Bless!

I do not think the teaching of "not judging" is suitable to answer this question.

When Jesus says "no judging", it is because judging results in self-righteousness, which is bad. Shortly after Jesus said no judging, he told us to recognize the false prophets by their fruits (See Matthew 7). IMO, to "identify" is not the same as to "judge", since identifying a person (usually) has nothing to do with self-righteousness. Nor should identifying a person's nature prevent us from loving the person. On the contrary, it can prevent us from following the evil doers.

In Revelation 2:2, Jesus praise those who are able to identify false apostles. And this practice can be seen in the Gospel and in epistle of Paul.

However, this is not an easy task. See the Parable of the Wheat and Tares (Matthew 13:24-30). The false followers of Christ acts similarly to those who are true believers, as in the teaching further down the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 7:21-23).

Personally I have not practice this teaching. It is not easy for me to identify the fruits of others without thinking I myself are better than others.

No, the reason Jesus dealt with the jews? the jews surrounded him, but when he taught, he was teaching us all.

Even the Jews taught, if you want eternal life, you have to follow the commandment.

The very biblical definition of sin is not following the commandments.

I will stress here that we are forgiven for our sins, we must also be baptized, and this, in turn, converts us into humans who follow the commandment, we love them.

This does not mean we will not break a commandment when tempted greatly.

But we still in our hearts strive every day to follow the commandments as we love them.

We are lucky to have Jesus, Yahshua who died on the cross for our sins for when we are tempted greatly.
