Dear saints may the Lord bless and prosper all of you this New year, and give you peace :). As we begin the New Year we develop schedules for what we intend to accomplish this year. Some plans may be ambitious and some not so much. As Christians we need to understand that our plans are not our own but the Lord’s (Proverbs 19:21, Proverbs 16:3). If the godly intentions in our hearts are God’s will, then their fulfillment will also be per God’s timing. False modesty, timidity, and spiritual sloth should not discourage us from thinking that God’s will is protracted and time consuming. Sometimes the Lord’s will is timed to be fulfilled right now (Isaiah 43:18-20) and we have to be sure that we’re not hindrances (Matthew 16:23) in His path.

I’d like to start with just one verse today, Ezekiel 12:28, “none of My words will be delayed any longer.” These words were uttered by the Lord through His Prophet when many false preachers were either denying God’s judgment or deliberately delaying it (Ezekiel 12:26-27). Although, spoken in the context of judgment it’s just as relevant to us today. Are people putting off salvation and saying it’s not yet time to come to Jesus? Then let’s remind them that today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2) and that they could die any moment (Luke 12:20) to face eternal judgment. Is a pagan world enjoying its sin like there's no tomorrow (Luke 22:19)? Then let’s not forget to remind them that the Day of Judgment could be today (2 Peter 3:9-10). Are Scientists calculating and predicting that the end of the Universe is still billions of years away? Then let’s hold onto our belief that the creation is in God’s Hands and that the Day of the Lord is imminent (Matthew 24:38-39, Luke 12:56, Revelation 22:12).

The Lord Jesus Christ always knew that the time was short (John 7:33) and was frustrated to the point of annoyance (Matthew 17:17). Luke 12:50 tells us that the Lord was in a hurry to go to the Cross to purchase our salvation! Mark 10:32 tells us that the Lord outpaced His disciples en route to certain death and they had trouble keeping up with Him as they were afraid. The disciples certainly had a different schedule for the kingdom of God thinking it was an unattainable goal while Jesus told them it was within them and right then (Matthew Luke 17:21, John 4:23; 5:25). He was pressed for time, never procrastinated deliberately, always knew that His word would be fulfilled then and there, impatient with unbelief and was on a tight schedule. His time bound life was filled with faith, danger, suspense, adventure, ruggedness, power, joy, ecstasy, despair and ultimate triumph. Are our lives just as well-timed and fulfilling?

How’re our spiritual clocks today saints? Are we procrastinating spiritually? Do we share the Master’s urgency? If not, we need “New timing” this New Year and need to be in tune with the Holy Spirit. The clock’s ticking, the Lord’s in a hurry, the world is decaying fast, humanity is going from bad to worse, and people are dying spiritually and fast. Let’s not accomplish our Lord’s vision in the future but right now.

How about our own lives, careers, healing, blessing, deliverance, relationships, and other issues? Are we waiting for the Lord to deliver us in the future while God’s promises are for the here and now (Matthew 8:13)? If so, our spiritual clocks need a new timing. Our God is doing something now and not tomorrow.

Happy New Year saints:)
