There is a line, through Revelation, which speaks to 'The One Who Overcomes'. This One is also called, 'the One with an ear to hear'.

This "one" is not just one person, but to those who 'have an ear to hear'.

They, we, are one, in Christ Jesus, in God.

Are you an overcomer? Are you one with ears to hear?

When the whole world is deaf, 'ever hearing, but never perceiving', can you truly hear? Do you have spiritual ears, not just ears of flesh, but spiritual ears, within, to perceive? Do you have a spiritual heart, to perceive?

Are you a perceiver?

Revelation 21

6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7 He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

This is part of a strand that runs all through Revelation. If you wish to claim to have 'ears to hear', you should become aware of this strand. A secret message.

Hearing it is one thing.

Keeping it, is the Key.

Revelation 2

7 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

11 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death.

17 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.

26 To the one who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations— 27 that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’—just as I have received authority from my Father. 28 I will also give that one the morning star. 29 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Revelation 3

5 The one who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels. 6 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12 The one who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. 13 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

21 To the one who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Some of this have daunting promises, which an ordinary believer would lose, and be unable to keep. This is why this strand, which runs through Revelation - I do not here include all of the quotes - is missed by so many. Even if some of these messages are often repeated, here and there, by Christians.

That aside, what is one who overcomes?

Let us go back to the story of Jacob, and the foundation of Israel. Indeed, the very name, "Israel".

Jacob, whose name means, 'one who supplants' or 'one who deceives', had many struggles in life. He took his brother Esau's birthright, which is basically what 'supplants' means. Esau was a man 'of the world', while Jacob enjoyed staying indoors.

After much struggles with Esau, Jacob came to struggle with God, in the form of a man, on a hill, late at night. And they struggled all night long, until, in the morning, God relented, and gave Jacob a new name, "Israel", saying, "you have struggled with man and God and overcome". That is, "Israel" means 'to overcome", or 'one who overcomes'.

That is who you are called to be. One who struggles with man and God, and who overcomes.

The hill is representative of struggling with God, in the flesh. With the identity and person of Jesus. Both with the reality of God in the flesh, in the great mystery Paul spoke of, about Jesus. And, with the reality of struggling with you trying to gain the inheritance from the false Christians - proverbial Esau - and overcoming, finding Christ in your own heart.

What is meant by the 'morning star rising in your heart'.

The Morning Star rises in the darkest part of the Night, shortly before dawn breaks.

There are many messages from God to hear. All might give you temporary rejoicing. But, hold fast and hard to those which give the greatest promise. Do not let anyone take that away from you.

That struggle is one that happens at night. And it happens through the entire night. Just as it was for Jacob.

Very good and interesting read.

Have a question;

Where did you get the saying;

“morning star rising in your heart”

It is the same quote from the writings of Jacob Boehme. So I was kinda curious? Him being so obscure.

Blessings
