• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hope you're feeling better Jeshu. And everyone else as well.

Not feeling much better brother. As a matter of fact i feel rather downish and feel like giving up and giving in, but i know that will make things worse not better.

At the moment i'm tired of fighting my thoughts because i feel down it looks like it isn't working. i need a lift to get through my day but i don't even feel like praying for one. Feeling rather negative, hopefully it will pass soon.

Hoping you are doing better brother.

Yeah, I know. Sometimes we just can't fight it. But it'll pass, like it always does. Let it make its rounds and it'll run into the pit where it came from. It can't do much else. Said a prayer for you.

Please don't give up @Jeshu. @Tempura is right, this too shall pass.

Thank you both for your care and everyone for their prayers. i've been having a bit of a melt down the last few days and finding it hard to keep my head above the water. So unmotivated and so drained i haven't been for awhile and it is hard to cope with. i'm at war with my own thoughts and feelings and need a truce to keep the peace.

i've been meditating on my predicament and realised that i had been banking on my own abilities once again and not on Christ's. i must keep my focus on Jesus if i want to survive the onslaught.

Thanks for the prayers

Why does everyone else around me get what they want (and on many occasions, they get what I've been wanting)? Why am I always overlooked? I seem to be forgotten.

Sorry, I'm just having a bad day.

Happy New Year all! Still have about 4 1/2 hours left of 2018 where we live.

I’m used to being on a bandstand on NYE but have to take it easy at home this time. Injured my back, but slowly getting better. Love and prayers.

Isn't it horrible when that happens? But know that Jesus hasn't forgotten you and loves you with an undying love.

Be of good courage.

Feeling optimistic that today will be a good day, i was hardly nauseated this morning and only needed one cup of coffee to get up and going.

The weather is beautiful 75-80 F everyday with a little wind to keep it cool. We had a BBQ last night it was a perfect night for it.

How is everyone else going? i hope you all survived this festive season. i know depression can be a bit of a drag around that time of the year.

wishing you all better than been.

Dreading going to church tomorrow. Dread talking to people; listening to their chatter and noise. I just want to stay home and enjoy the peace and quiet. The only reason I go is because I have to play the piano.

I'm seriously thinking about recording all of the hymns I have to play so they have them on performance track so I don't have to go back. That would make me SO happy. I would not miss ANYONE there. No one talks to me anyway. So, so tired of going. It's the same old message....serve, work, do, witness, sacrifice! I'm spiritually and physically worn out.

i so know what you mean when you say you dread going to Church i suffered from that for years until in the end i stopped going. In the end i became so angry. The bible talks about religion lording it over us and i think that is where you suffer from right now, your faith has been replaced with religious duty. Consequently you have lost touch with God's goodness and love because of the requirements the Church has been making from you and you feel deeply unhappy and spiritually unfed.

To have faith in God's love is however one of the most powerful tools we can use to overcome our depression. Faith in God's love brings us hope and hoping God never disappoints us in Christ.

If i was you i let go of must, do, and rule and surrender your hurting life into Jesus' hand and see what comes your way. Build on His loving promises, build them in your heart and let them take shape in your mind. God is an awesome God who loves us to be saved from the hurts life brings us down here.

It is not Church with its demands that you want, but God in His love over you then you can have real courage to overcome your depression. i found God through His Word and now The Word guides and keeps me safe from harm. i highly recommend Him.

Peace.

A Way Out Of Depression

How can we have meaning when we don't love?
Everything else is but a clinging cymbal,
a sounding gong...
..of no importance in the scheme of things.

A loving faith takes us Home to Him!
He who is love Himself!
Hide in His love!

Endeavour to love His children,
and all Creation too!
and so find a way out,
of this hell hole we've been in.
His love the way out of depression.

Feeling alone. The holidays have finished. Everyone has gone back to work. Apart of our dog Shadow i'm alone and feeling it.

The last week has been mixed for me some better days but most have been down and energy-less. Struggling with sadness and anxiety at the moment. Determined to get through my days trying to look at Jesus instead of myself or my own circumstances.

Wishing you all a blessed week

Said a prayer for you man. I get that too. I hope you'll be granted strength and comfort, as you're often comforting so many others.

Lately I've been doing some ridiculous stuff to entertain myself and to get some energy to do something, doesn't even matter much what I'm doing.

I've been playing some old games, but I've also made "rooms" in some video syncing site where I watch horrible movies. I mean movies that are so inept and ridiculous and horrible that it becomes funny. I've even put some "commercials" in the playlist, and the worse they are, the better. It's like a playlist of neverending nonsense, for people like me to giggle at. Sometimes I get some friends in there, and we'll chat about the movies while we're watching them, and sometimes we're in tears laughing at the absurd stuff we're watching. I started to make different playlists and rooms for different people - someone might like bad horror movies, another one likes horrible action nonsense and so on. Then, afterwards it's fun to check up on the actors and crew of each movie I watched, to see if someone still has a career or what else movies they were involved in. Some filmmakers and actors have weird mysteries about them too, so it can be fun to check around.

Quite useless activity, certainly foolish, but helps me to pass the time, to focus on something, and I have a bit more energy too. We have a saying that goes something like this: "For a poor man the amusement is cheap, but for a crazy man it's all free". I guess it helps to laugh at something sometimes, no matter how foolish it is.

Thank you. Yesterday started lowish and anxious but ended okay. The comfort you wished me did come after a sleep. Thank you for praying.

Today i feel barely okay but i hope it will turn to good.

Blessings

I am glad I can post here. Internet is a good way to be free from the local spiritual cage. I need not be guilty for only post here. I miss you all.

It is always good to hear again from you brother.

The good thing is the spiritual realities can only be caged by spiritual ghettos your spirit is free to roam the universe and beyond. Don't accept any chains but fight for the freedom Christ gives His followers.

(we've been praying for the Chinese people at this time of persecution, also for you brother. Be strong and courageous.)
