The world thinks that way.

Jesus didn't.
and He did not teach us disciples to think that way either,
rather to be set free from the world, the devil, the flesh, and selfishness,
to learn from Him His Way.

Jesus : "nothing of His-self", all from the Father.
Disciples: "nothing of our-selves" , all from the Father.

Where do you get the ‘nothing of His-self idea’? (and how does that relate to how you interpret what you perceive?). To submit to something - to God - you first need to know yourself and why you are doing it. Christ’s submission of his own will to his Father’s in Gethsemane wasn’t just some random, unthinking, process.

I'm skeptical about the idea of finding planets in other galaxies. With even our best telescopes, we can barely even resolve individual stars in another galaxy. Finding their planets would be millions of times more difficult. But if we truly could detect an actual planet in another galaxy, then there's no reason we couldn't detect planets within our own galaxy, regardless of how far away the stars they orbit were. Star distances in our galaxy are measured in thousands of light years at most. Other galaxies are multiple millions of light years at least.
The article explains how it was done. They don't detect the planets directly, but deduce their presence from the influences they have on the light passing through the lensing galaxy, disturbances that are characteristic of what would be expected of planetary perturbations.

The Father and the Son
…18Because of this, the Jews tried all the harder to kill Him. Not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but He was even calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God. 19So Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself, unless He sees the Father doing it. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does. 20The Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does. And to your amazement, He will show Him even greater works than these.…

They do something similar to detect planets around stars in our own galaxy. However, there are objects that can pass in front of stars other than planets. Asteroids, comets, etc. could be detected if the sensors are sensitive enough.

I don't get what your point is Jeff - do you think Jesus made no choices?

That's a big 'if' for asteroids, comets, etc., in another galaxy...
