Scripture says;
John 21:22 (NASB)
Jesus said to him, "If I want him to remain until I come, what [is that] to you? You follow Me!"
“What is that to you? You follow me.”
With these words Jesus answers all our troubles, all our doubts, all our fears. What strength there is in taking one’s eyes off whatever it is that would take ones eyes off Christ. With the simple words;
“What is that to me? I follow Christ”.
All troubles must melt before;
“What is that to me? I follow Christ”.
Oh, the blessedness of having a single eye. One that will not look to the left or the right but only and always to Christ.
Scripture says;
Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)
Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee.
“Whose mind is stayed on Thee”
Perfect peace is the reward of having such a mind. A single eye toward Christ. A single eye toward truth. A single eye toward righteousness.
“Whose mind is stayed on Thee”.
To answer all that would come against such a mind with;
“What is that to me? I follow Christ”
Following Christ in all that we do, say, think, dream, hope, desire. To have nothing before Him, to be willing to settle for nothing less than;
“all of Him and nothing of me”.
To have such a heart, to long for such a heart. To be willing to settle for nothing less than such a heart.
To answer all with a;
“What is that to me? I follow Christ”
How is it that these words carry such strength?
Because of the simple truth;
“He lives”
Blessings;
Much love in Christ, Not me
