I could ask the same thing about health care services, but then I'd be hurting feelings on the other side.

Indeed -- it would be quite upsetting to have to explain to you how healthcare falls under the category of "promote the general welfare."

Anyone remember the Fairness Doctrine?

Anyone remember which party got rid of the Fairness Doctrine?

Ooo! Ooo! I know! I know! The Republicans!

But in all fairness (see what I did there?) Donald's supporters are more interested in something different: the Equal Time Rule as outlined in the Communications Act of 1934 -- while conveniently forgetting that the rule only applies to political candidates during an election.

You see, they forget, because Donald wants them to forget.

Yeah, it even used to be funny, like more than 15 years ago...

But you gotta admit that it was hilarious when SNL skewered Sarah Palin. Or at least Tina Fey did.

fey_as_palin_0.jpg

But the show also spoofs Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. And if you remember, Sarah made a guest appearance. She and Tina did a skit together. It was great. And I'll bet SNL would love to give Donald Trump a spot. He and Alec Baldwin together would be epic.

(Though they'd probably need to give Democrats equal time.)

I can't believe Trump describes SNL as media. What?
For all his bluster he sure has a tender underbelly. It hurts when a bully gets back what he dishes out.

What "for this" are you referring to? The tweet mentioned that the media is basically running Democrat commercials for them. There may or may not be grounds for a lawsuit regarding election laws there.
Isn't the Fox news channel very pro Comsevative . Maybe we should try to sue them for being very biases.

Of course. He's been on the show several times. I think he was the guest host some years ago. He knows how SNL works.

It's really sad if he's serious about going after SNL (and this is not just more pandering to his "base.") He'd be like an insecure 3rd grade bully boy who can dish it out to others, but can't take it himself. Poor Donny. That mean SNL is making fun of you. How pathetic. We have President who's a crybaby.

I doubt that would be a problem.

Donald tends to lump all the "enemies of the American people" together.

For all his bluster he sure has a tender underbelly. It hurts when a bully gets back what he dishes out.

As I often say, scratch the surface of a bully and you always find a coward underneath...

(not to say that Donald is a bully or a coward -- judge for yourself)

Donald Trump is a bully in real life and he's a cyber bully online. He's only throwing a fit like this and demanding an investigation because he hates being treated the way he treats other people.

Journalism is dead - there are no reporters anymore. On either side. The days where the facts were stated and editorial comments where described as editorial comment is gone. There is nothing left but sensationalism and inflamatory rhetoric - from both sides.
Thoughts? I think the news media should actually be something other than biased. People have the right to accurate news reporting. Agree?

It would help to look at the history of the press.

The history of an unbiased press is both recent and short. Up until WWII, there was no such thing as an unbiased press, nor was there even the concept of such a thing. Newspapers practiced open advocacy, and everyone knew you had to read several different papers to be well-informed.

The concept of a "disinterested press" was born after WWII, in response to the propaganda of German and Italian media. It's most visible proponent was Edward R Murrow, and for a while it was a foundational ethic of the media during the 50s into the 60s.

However, it didn't last long--barely beyond the death of Murrow himself. By the late 60s, the cracks were already there, and it was a lost concept by the early 70s.

You may as well be calling for a return to bobby socks and saddle shoes.

You mean there would have to be.....an investigation? We all know what happens when democrats get investigated. They claim that it's just an attempt by Republicans to divert attention from the "real issues". Obama: "We don't have time for this silliness!"
Am I the only person, that miss having a real grown up as a president ? I'm not sure of your point. Obama made several good points . To bad he can run for president again, After this Trump nightmare is over .

As well as the repeal of the First, Fourteenth, and Nineteenth Amendments, as long as you taking glorious steps backward -- all things I've heard actual conservatives advocate for, not for nothing...

How do the courts test if anything is legal? Do you want me to look up specific cases for you so you can examine the procedures? Or maybe I'm not understanding the question...seemed obvious to me.
How would it get to be a case? What the media is doing is currently legal. Honest question.

Seriously. People should go look at newspapers in the 1800s and how they covered political subjects. Bias hardly even covers what was happening then.

Yes. GOP congressmen try over and over and over and still don't find anything.

That conclusion comes from the democrats' favorite mouthpiece--the Press.

Also from the reports that were put out by the investigations. Though they might be "the Press" too! Everything is the Press! I'm the Press. You're the Press. The only one we can trust is Moshiach Donald!
