There isn't. Trump or whomever would need to demonstrate in a court of law that "the media" is colluding with the Democratic National Committee and being compensated in some way other than normal ad revenue.

You mean there would have to be.....an investigation? We all know what happens when democrats get investigated. They claim that it's just an attempt by Republicans to divert attention from the "real issues". Obama: "We don't have time for this silliness!"

...back in the days of 3 networks and NO cable news channels...guess what? SNL was making fun of Presidents.

Every minute of the show? No. I used to actually find SNL entertaining back then. Now they just have a one-track collective mind. Hardly creative.

Former Sheriff Joe may need a PR person for his 2020 Senate race....maybe you should consider...

We have a *right* to accurate news reporting? That in the Constitution somewhere?

I could ask the same thing about health care services, but then I'd be hurting feelings on the other side.

You seem to have replied to the wrong post. It doesn't relate to anything I said.

Every minute that I've given them the chance to be talking about something else. Doesn't take long to turn the channel.

Thank you for that clip. Reminds us of what a president with a lick of sense in him sounds like. PTL for Obama saying that truth. We certainly didn't have time for Donald's racist silliness with the birther conspiracy crap.

As for the investigations of Democrats, how much did the probes of Bill Clinton back in the 90s cost & what was the outcome?

And thank you for reminding us that whenever a black democrat is ever questioned, the liberals can't handle it, as evidenced by the cries of "RACISM" :argh: It's such a weak argument that was made totally pathetic during Obama's 8 years when he and his followers couldn't handle any criticism.

As for the outcome, he was impeached. If that had happened to a black president, it would have been said to have been based on racism (of course).

Do you therefore agree with Donald that they should be "tested in courts" for this?

Up to the quoted post, doesn't appear anyone cares one way or another so I'd say you're making a big deal of nothing with your original concern. But as you can see, the thread is still going as one would expect, any excuse will work just fine. The beauty of these threads is, nobody ever needs, or cares if there's a viable reason to bash the President.

I'd guess most here, even his haters realize that may not have been the intention of the comment but possibly, and if it were tested in court, we might be surprised at the outcome. I've thought along those same lines before. Sounds to me like he was more or less thinking out loud with the comment.

But either way, is it really all that outrageous to say it should be tested in court? That's all he actually said.

I personally would be very interested in following such a test, and since I feel no embarrassment at all in saying that, once again, i think your original purpose for the thread is a bit frivolous.

You mean there would have to be.....an investigation?

Who said anything about an investigation?

We all know what happens when democrats get investigated. They claim that it's just an attempt by Republicans to divert attention from the "real issues". Obama: "We don't have time for this silliness!"

You're kidding me, right? As evidence to support your point you post President Obama rightfully calling the birther silliness, silliness?

Tested in court how exactly?

How do the courts test if anything is legal? Do you want me to look up specific cases for you so you can examine the procedures? Or maybe I'm not understanding the question...seemed obvious to me.

Paranoia will destroy ya....

Thoughts?

I think the irony is that if he stopped obsessing over the news, and just did his job, he’d get better coverage. Leopards don’t often change their spots though, I suppose.

Sorry, I can't accept your thanks Aldebaran on account of what you're thanking me for being entirely wrong. I'm not a liberal. Never was. I'm a registered Republican. Supported John McCain & Mitt Romney. I never was much of a fan of President Obama's but gracious is he vastly superior than Donald in every way.

Could you do me a favor, Adlebaran, and show me where anybody spent 5 years & a whole heck of a lot of drama all about some white Republican president's birth certificate that's on par with Donald's nonsense with President Obama's? You really don't think the birther conspiracy theory nonsense was racist, Aldebaran? Jeepers, that was a huge part of its appeal. I lived in an area that liked to make lynching "jokes" about President Obama, call him that black man in the White House. They LOVED Donald for trying to prove that black president wasn't really the president. A whole bunch of folks felt the same.

Edit to add ^ this is a rhetorical question, lol.

It's such a weak argument that was made totally pathetic during Obama's 8 years when he and his followers couldn't handle any criticism

Well now, again, I've never been a follower of Obama. I do appreciate that he is someone with dignity & common sense. Now more than ever.

Now you are right about how it's absolutely as pathetic as all get out for folks to get their britches into a bunch on account of not being able to handle the criticism of the president they follow. I've personally never followed any POTUS with the devotion you seem to have for Donald.

Now the cost suddenly matters?
As for the outcome, he was impeached. If that had happened to a black president, it would have been said to have been based on racism (of course).

When has the cost NOT mattered? Lol. Trump has huge temper tantrums all the dang time. He is unintentionally hilarious about it, just farting out one huge made up figure one day, then another one the next. When the Mueller investigation hasn't cost what he said & has EARNED money from the Manafort & Cohen pleas. In comparison to other investigations being much more expensive & not productive. Dude. We've had 45 presidents. Only 1 has been black. That 1 black president is the ONLY president in decades who hasn't faced independent investigation. That is a fact, not an opinion. Feel free to fact-check it.

It always matters when you have nothing to show for it -- and knew from the start that you wouldn't.

As for the outcome, he was impeached. If that had happened to a black president, it would have been said to have been based on racism (of course).

Funny, that didn't stop plenty on the Right from howling for Obama's impeachment -- funnier still, they never could nail down exactly why they wanted him impeached... just a lot of hemming and hawing.
