Thoughts? I think the news media should actually be something other than biased. People have the right to accurate news reporting. Agree?
Disagree. As a business, news networks are allowed to pander to whatever their audience demands of them. If we were a more demanding audience, they'd be forced to meet our expectations.

I agree it's probably not ideal but, it's at least better than state sponsored news and television.

In all fairness, it's not suppression -- it's a ham-handed (the only way Donald knows how to do things) attempt at intimidation, perhaps.
Yes I’m not a legal expert on the matter. I was wondering if the intimidation might have crossed a line, since his intention is to suppress.

My first thought was that since this is an official message from the President, it might be a 1st amendment violation. This is the government trying to suppress speech and the feee press.
It's not quite that serious. He knows he can't really do anything about it so he just shrieks with impotent rage.

NBC runs approximately 8.5* hours of news a week. Yet Trump was crying about "hour after hour" and SNL. He's not crying about the news media. He's crying about all media and this Tweet is just another example of what a despot he wishes he was.

* Nightly News x 5, Meet the Press and the first hour of Today x 5 assuming there isn't some tabloid fodder or the Olympics to dominate that time.

You bring up the number of hours of news per week NBC runs, but have you ever heard of MSNBC, or CNN? These are the days of 24 hours of news per day.

Do you therefore agree with Donald that they should be "tested in courts" for this?

What "for this" are you referring to? The tweet mentioned that the media is basically running Democrat commercials for them. There may or may not be grounds for a lawsuit regarding election laws there.

Good thing the internet is here. It used to be that there were the 3 major networks, and then cable. I can see why more people are now "cutting the cord". Maybe someday the MSM will notice. The problem is that the MSM still controls things such as presidential debates--even taking sides such as we saw when Obama needed the moderator's help against Romney.

There isn't. Trump or whomever would need to demonstrate in a court of law that "the media" is colluding with the Democratic National Committee and being compensated in some way other than normal ad revenue.

...back in the days of 3 networks and NO cable news channels...guess what? SNL was making fun of Presidents.

There's the rub -- our rights are protected and enforced by the government. Should they be the ones making sure (by their own definitions, of course) that your news and media is "accurate"?

And why drag SNL into it?

There's probably money and / or power involved that turned much of the legacy media into a propaganda machine.
This is probably illegal so they investigate it.
They have probably been investigating it for a while already.
Who “They”?
