First we must take these older writings in context with the rest of the homily uncut and to the situations they were addressing. Secondly we must also reject feminism and the false modern day beliefs that women are equal to men, they are not.

no, men and women are equals. modernism says men and women are identical. that's the error.

God has no mother.
Who is the "my Lord" Elizabeth is referring to in Luke 1:43?

And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

Plus Elizabeth is described as being filled with the Holy Spirit when she asked that question.
Well, there is another thread where people are coming with a bunch of heresies in General Theology just to avoid calling Mary "the Mother of God".

Is Joseph father of God?

And is James brother of God?

On the first post-resurrection appearance of Jesus to women rather than to men: “I consider this was done by way of reproach, because they [the men] had been so tardy and sluggish to believe. And indeed, they deserve not only to have women for their teachers, but even oxen and asses. . . . Yet it pleased the Lord, by means of those weak and contemptible vessels, to give display of his power.”

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

The above sounds true and good but, most of the others listed are very off base regarding women.

We both have our special places and duties here on Earth. I cannot fill hers and she cannot fill mine. A bible-believing wife is a treasure to find.

no, Christ's Father is God.

yes, but only in a legal sense. step brothers, half brothers, etc. might be brothers in the eyes of the law, even if the parents are different.

no one disputes that. but the I Am took flesh by being born of a woman in the fullness of time.
But He came in the flesh as a human.
He HAD TO BE a human to be the 2nd Adam who did NOT sin.

Oh, wait, this is not the Theotokos discussion topic..

right, while being human He did not cease to be God. the Divine "He" took flesh and made it His own in the Womb of His Mother.

and if you scroll up, yes it is the Theotokos topic.

And His father and mother were marveling at the things having been spoken concerning Him.

Well, and Mary is mother of Christ only in a biological, a bodily sense...

"Before Abraham was, I AM."
Yeah, so? He didn't have a mother at the time of Abraham, but He does now.

You also haven't answered my question of you in post #46
Who does Elizabeth mean by "my Lord"?

first point, I was referring to His true Father, God. not His foster father, Joseph. Christ identifies the God of Israel as His Father, not Joseph. but you are right, legally in a worldly sense, Joseph was His legal father.

second point, of course she is His mother in a biological, bodily sense. that is what makes a mother, a mother.

Good, we agree, then, that the title "mother of God" should not be used, because she was mother of his body, only. It should not be used more than "father of God" for Joseph, because he was his father legally, only.

Your mother is only the mother of myst33 in a biological, bodily sense, but that is what makes her your mother.
