I meant more that you could provide proof as to the majority or scholars, rather than a minority.

Paul always has a greeting. 1 Timothy is no different.

I see no difinitive proof. It’s all relative.
Its those scholars who really were against the scriptures being even really inspired!

And who still do. :) They're called competent and respected Bible scholars, as opposed to literalists and fundamentalists.
I think you don’t really have a valid point then.

I don’t use Wikipedia for theological discussions, nor am I going to research why Paul opens 1 Timothy introducing himself and Timothy and his relationship to Timothy.

IMHO. You are grasping at straws

Not really that competent since they reject inspiration and historical accurate texts!

There are atheists that are Biblical scholars.

I’m just dismissing their point unless they add more info. There just is no proof

One cannot prove form the scriptures alone that God authorized women as elders/pastors, to get that viewpoint, have to force into the bible assumed cultural norms and how society states that it should now be!

Right. The problem is God doesn’t change with societal norms.

God created us for His purpose and what is His will. God cannot be against Himself

Which just means no vote :sigh: so archaic
Many people wish that God was wishy washy and would change with the times.

I personally appreciate a God who does not change as then I can depend on His promises.

There is a very good side of that coin.

I believe scripture means what it says. When it talks about women not being in charge of men, I'm happy enough that I've understood what it means. But do times change?
Organized religion is legalistic of necessity to run their business. Mature believers are examples for those young in Christ, and they can be male or female.

You realize that is the same as saying only men can hear from God, so it’s a good thing women do not have a say in what is being heard from God. God doesn’t work that way.

Please read my previous post.

That is not what it says at all. Do you pray? Ok then.

That is just a straw man.

There is no requirement that you be a husband, either. But if you are...

How can an unmarried man demonstrate the most necessary qualification of a bishop?

He must manage his own household well, keeping his children submissive and respectful in every way— for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how can he take care of God’s church?
