Southern Baptist Seminary Confronts History of Slaveholding and 'Deep Racism'
The Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant denomination in the United States, came into being in 1845 as the church of Southern slaveholders.

Now, 173 years later, Southern Baptist leaders are not just acknowledging their dark history; they are documenting it, as if by telling the story in wrenching detail, they may finally be freed of its taint.

The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, the denomination's flagship institution, this week released a 71-page report on the role that racism and support for slavery played in its origin and growth.

Something I think of > even though there has been reform about slavery, we need how only God can correct what in us could make us capable of slavery or something else we might still be able to get away with . . . not with God and the day of Judgment, but culturally.

There are a lot of ways people now are in slavery, and they themselves are bringing it on their own selves.

And ones can still be mean and cruel, though not using humans as their slaves. They can use and possess people in other ways.

I wrote about this exact thing not too long ago com7fy8 and yes I totally agree. I personally feel there is a principality of slavery that still has a strong foothold in this country and is manifesting itself in other ways.
