Two nuns allegedly stole $500,000 for trips to Las Vegas, but the church doesn’t want to prosecute

The diocese has the option to prosecute, but they also have the option not to, and to administer their own punishment. That's up to and including being kicked out of the order. Then they would no longer be nuns... which would mean the next crime they commit, they are no longer under the protection of the diocese.

On a smaller scale, I see it the same as I would see my child getting in trouble at school. If the school has already administered a punishment, there is no reason for the parent to punish the child again at home, although some parents would.

I also look at the $500,000 as having been stolen from God, which in itself is a terrible deed.
St Peter might require a cheque for payment to get through the Pearly Gates! :)

If they get fired from being nuns they would end up just being none!

Isn't this how Sister Act 2 started?

Instead of Sister Act, I think it's more like Nuns On The Run.

Had the nuns won, we'd be nun the wiser. I always suspected that Bingo was a gateway vice.
Yeah, but I guess that's nun of my business.

Where was this ?

PCF Hurricane, Utah

I’ve reported it to internal affairs and I called the FBI. I called the bureau of prisons to complain but got only a message machine.

They got into very bad 'habits'.
I think one of them put instant coffee into the microwave and went back in time, because there is Joshua the son of nun!

I agree. Just because they're nuns doesn't excuse from the fact that they stole money. If I stole money from someone I'd be sent to jail too just like any other criminal would so why are these nuns not in jail? They got caught stealing from the church so they should be prosecuted. Just ridiculous.
