We already have an example of the saved falling away.
OK, sure. But the only question is this: falling away from what?
[Hb6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.]
The question was what are those in Hebrews falling from? You post below.

If we believe that His salvation of us can be lost......we have fallen from the faith and have crucified Him afresh."
He was saying that it is those who believe salvation can be lost (like yourself) have fallen from the faith and have crucified Him afresh.
JL: Then the author of Hebrews must not have had faith. If we fall from faith that means we are unbelievers, are unbeliever then saved?
This is a straw man argument and ignores a lot of Scripture.
The Bible never describes a believer who has apostasizes as an unbeliever. They are simply called apostate, and my dictionary defines that word as "no longer believing what was once believed", and is "used in religion and politics".
And, the Bible makes very clear who will be condemned: those who NEVER believed.
John 3:18 - Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they
have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
2 Thess 2:12 - and so that all will be condemned who
have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
You are free to maintain your own biases, but ehse 2 verses make very clear that it is only those who "have not believed", which means
NEVER BELIEVED who are condemned.
So, apostates are those who HAVE BELIEVED at one time. They will not be condemned to the lake of fire.
Further, Jesus was extremely clear about who WILL NEVER PERISH in John 10:28 - I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
It is on the basis of possessing eternal life that a person shall never perish.
So it is eat, drink, plunder, indulge in all the sins of the flesh and be merry for tomorrow we die and go to heaven no matter we crucify the Son of God afresh. We just can't lose salvation no matter how hard we try.
I am fully aware of the fact that those who think salvation can be lost just can't stand the thought that someone is going to "get away" with sin.
Well, you can ease your fevered mind. No one gets away with anything. We know what God's policy is towards His own possession, His children.
Heb 12:11 tells us that God's discipline is PAINFUL. So quit worrying about the rebels. There's not getting away with anything, even though you may not be able to see their suffering.
Second, and a fact that your ilk just can't seem to comprehend, is that "having believed", the person is sealed with the Holy Spirit, who is a deposit which GUARANTEES their inheritance, for the day of redemption, as God's own possession.
Eph 1:13,14
13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,
14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
Eph 4:30 - And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
2 Cor 1:22 - set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 5:5 says the exact same thing.
So, ONCE a person believes, they are sealed and guaranteed an inheritance for the day of redemption because they are God's possession.
But, feel free to continue to try to prove that Jesus lied in John 10:28, if that floats your boat.
But, your boat will be torpedoed by the very verses I've just shared.[/QUOTE]
