Alive is alive and dead is dead. God's WORD teaches us that we are not to communicate to the dead. Also, most people have died and there is no one according to the scriptures that have not tasted of death except for the living.
Christ tells us that those who believe in Him will never die. Do you believe this?

That is talking about eternal life after death or to those who do not see death who are alive at his second coming.

Looking at the Hebrew word meanings what is the difference between someone praying and trying to communicate to the dead and a necromancer when that is the role of a necromancer?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

May God bless you as you seek him through his Word

I have already shown you what they mean and do not mean in Judaism as well as in Christianity...

You have and thankyou although this was a 3 to 4 century AD teaching and is not a part of God's WORD. It also had different interpretations for different people. I appreciate this background you provided though. I found it interesting and something I had not known earlier.

May God bless you as you seek him through his Word.

But do you believe that those who believe in Christ will never die, as Christ promised? That they are alive?

If Moses and Elijah can and did appear with and talk to Christ before the Resurrection, how much more alive than they are Christians now?

The tradition goes back well before the 3rd or 4th centuries, at least in Judaism.

Possibly but it is only a tradition and not Gods Word. I was referring however more to Abba ben Joseph bar Ḥama (Rabbi Rava) who is credited for the section of the Talmud regarding Calebs prayer which would place it in the early 3rd century AD. This was shared with me earlier with brother Sanoy. Which was around the time the RCC adopted the practice of praying to Mary and the saints.

Already answered brother, please see post # 228 your just repeating yourself now brother. These are God's WORD not mine. Perhaps we should agree to disagree. There is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed come judgment day. There is no scripture that says we are to pray to Mary and the saints and God forbids us to communicate to those who have died.

There is no scripture that specifically says that we cannot pray to Mary or the Saints.

Interpretation.

Alive in Christ is different to being dead in Christ. You are looking at it through Sola Scripture glasses of which are misted up a great deal my brother. No offence meant.

Out of here now. God bless everyone.

Also, brother, in Scripture, a Christian passing from physical life is not called "death" but rather "sleep". They are also described by Christ as being alive with Him. So... Thank you for a patient, amiable talk, friend. God bless you.

I have not changed my interopretation of God's Word at all. Please show me where I have done this?
By all means.
The Torah tells us not to "beseech the dead."

God's WORD tells us not to pray to the dead

the Hebrew word NACROMANCY is דּרשׁ; dârash means to seek or ask or inquire of the dead.

It is God's WORD that says that seeking help from the dead is an abomination to God
we are not to try to communicate to the dead as it is an abomination in God's eyes
None of the above describe what necromancy was, the summoning of the spirits of the dead or the raising of the dead through incantations and specific rituals in order to divine the future or seek hidden knowledge. Asking the Saints to pray for us is not in any way related to necromancy.

Well that is not true brother, please see post # 228 your just repeating yourself now
I believe that if we did a quick tally of this thread, the person most guilty of repeating themselves would be you, since you often post the same thing multiple times, contrary to the rules of this forum.

You DO understand that not everything that is part of the faith is in the Bible...there are oral traditions.

Not really brother. I am just replying to posts that have already been answered with God's WORD. Thanks for sharing your thoughts though. Did you have something new to share?

Hello brother Yeshua HaDerekh, nice to see you again. There is nothing wrong with traditions as long as it is based on the Word of God. The only time when tradition is bad is when it leads others away from God's WORD to break the commandments and to go against the Word of God, When this happens Jesus says we are not following God *MATTHEW 15:3-9. Thanks for your comments brother. I do enjoy reading your posts.

Indeed sister, we do not need to be afraid of death in this life if we believe and follow God's WORD we will be resurrected for the life to come. The scriptures teach that we all die a physical death however, unless we are lucky to be alive when Jesus returns *HEBREWS 9:27; 1 THESSALONIANS 4:16-17. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

May God bless you as you seek him through his Word.

Not really brother.
Yes really! And it is against the rules.
I am just replying to posts that have already been already answered with God's WORD.
You have an erroneous understanding of what you quote from the Scriptures, so you don't actually answer the questions or respond to the points raised.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts though. Did you have something new to share?
You apparently have nothing new to share, since you have never responded to the point I made about how abundantly God blesses seeking the prayers of the Saints.
