I had been struggling for a little feeling I wasn't a good enough Christian. I was Christened catholic as a baby and always believed in God. I began having difficulties in going to church until a friend invited me to hers. Through that intro I became more alive and gave my life to Jesus in October 2017. I've had some real spiritual battles and started to believe I was worthless in the eyes of Jesus. I pray every night and have cried to Him. One night last week I had a dream. The man I saw first I wasn't aware of who he was but his face was clear and felt he was special but not sure in what way and I spoke to him. I can't remember what was said to him but he spoke back in a language I have never heard and neither did I understand what was said but then I heard a voice telling me God knew me. I turned round to face a man but His face was not visible to me. He put His arms around me and told me ''Never doubt My love for you. I will always be with you and will always love you''. What He said was so clear and so full of love and He held me so tightly but with a tremendous gentleness although just for a few seconds and then I woke up and felt the most absolute love and peace I have ever felt and cried. I couldn't stop crying. I have felt so different since then. The peace I feel is breathtaking and I know that everything will be ok. I know I am loved.

Good to hear that you're coming back to Christ.

A piece of advice: No one's a good enough Christian. We all have room for improvement; it's the Christian struggle. Mary and Jesus are the only Christians in history graced enough to be sinless for a lifetime.

As a Church Father, St. Nektarios of Aegina, once said:

"Christians, have we understood the great responsibility that we have taken on before God through baptism? Have we come to know that we must conduct ourselves as children of God, that we must align our will with the will of God, that we must remain free from sin, that we must love God with all our hearts and always patiently await union with Him? Have we thought about the fact that our heart should be so filled with love that it should overflow to our neighbor? Do we have the feeling that we must become holy and perfect, children of God and heirs of the Kingdom of Heaven? We must struggle for this, so that we may not be shown unworthy and rejected. Let none of us lose our boldness, nor neglect our duties, nor be afraid of the difficulties of spiritual struggle. For we have God as a helper, who strengthens us in the difficult path of virtue…

We have within us deeply rooted weaknesses, passions, and defects. This can not all be cut out with one sharp motion, but patience, persistence, care and attention. The path leading to perfection is long. Pray to God so that he will strengthen you. Patiently accept your falls and, having stood up, immediately run to God, not remaining in that place where you have fallen. Do not despair if you keep falling into your old sins. Many of them are strong because they have received the force of habit. Only with the passage of time and with fervor will they be conquered. Don’t let anything deprive you of hope…"

Also, all you need to do is go to confession before coming back to the Catholic church; swing by the Catholic sub-forum if you're interested in discussing the prospect further, but please give it some consideration; Catholicism is beautiful and we'd love to have you back!

God be with you & guide you in all that you do.

Yes, you are definitely loved .
So much so that God Himself left glory to make atonement for your soul .
Always trust the Lord .
You are never worthless in the eyes of Jesus.
NEVER.
Keep your eyes upon Jesus friend.

Indeed. He does love us. There's just nothing we can believe in but that.

That's an awesome dream! I'd like to believe that was the Holy Spirit painting a vivid picture of Jesus for you. Even if it was your mind conjuring up a dream based on your personal connection to Jesus - the end result was an undeniable since of peace and love. Nothing compares to the love of Jesus!

I praise God that you have that understanding now.

Blessings!

Thankyou so much for your reply. However, in all due respect, I have no interest in going back to a religion. I am Christian and now follow my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I have learnt far more since becoming Christian than all the 54 years of being catholic. May God be with you always

I am heartened to hear you have come back to the faith. May God bless and prosper your walk with him!
Thankyou best thing I've done was to give my life to Him. I've always believed but now it feels differently

That "feeling" is some evidence of the presence of God's Holy Spirit within (the sealing of the Spirit) forever as a "child of God" (see John 6:27 & 2 Cor.1:22).
