Pentecostalism is the fastest growing faith in the modern Church. What is the effects Pentecostalism has had on modern evangelicalism?

It has shaken them out of their lethargy. You would think they would be wise and embrace it.

Some in the Church of England embraced it and draw on the Spirit in preaching and lectures in college... they send out missionaries, debate with with Anglo Catholics and Cessationists and Calvinists...

The same effects they had in the book of acts. It hasnt changed.
People have changed what they do
But when we repent and do as Jesus said..
He does as he promised.

I suspect you do not. But perhaps you just know not what you do.
Paul said that when the unbelievers and unlearned observe believers speak in tongues they do not know what is happening. The assume madness or drunkenness.
Unbelievers and unlearned....
Which are you?

What about fakeness? Do you always translate these incidents or are these simply unintelligible sounds? I’m not saying it’s always fake but perhaps sometimes or quite possibly a good majority of the time? Are these tongues being translated? In Acts of the Apostles when they spoke in tongues there were men who heard in their own languages it wasn’t merely unintelligible blabber. Of coarse you could claim you are speaking in the tongues of angels but Paul instructs in Corinthians that an interpreter is needed when someone speaks in an unknown tongue or else they should be silent. So again I ask are these foreign languages being interpreted?

There are a lot of threads on this matter. It would be good to have another one, with at the beginning all the scriptures surrounding the question brought forward and quoted. Do you want a thread?

Short answer, tongues with no interpreter are private prayers such as at home. And sometimes they spoken, but there is not yet an interpreter in the community or he or she is away, or the person speaking is new... it does not hurt to hear twenty seconds of tongues with no interpreter, what is important is that the one like Paul the apostle, is up with as much speaking time as he needs or is given.

A new thread in neutral territory would be good. So we could add opposing views and not get warned for not preaching to the choir.

There are already at least two threads in "neutral territory," and you're already corresponding on them.

I would implore correspondents to stick to the OP and not get sidetracked by debates over specific practices.

Do they begin with a thorough list of relevant Bible quotes?

Wikipedia includes this line regarding evangelicalism:

While evangelicalism is on the rise globally, developing countries have particularly embraced it; it is the fastest growing portion of Christianity.

You have asserted, essentially, that it is Pentecostalism that is the growth driver within evangelicalism. I don't know objectively if that's true (don't have any actual numbers), but my personal experiences in the Far East would support that. Where people are undergoing intense social and governmental oppression against Christianity, new conversions are more often Pentecostal than not.

Do they begin with a thorough list of relevant Bible quotes?

The question posed specifically to "Spirit-Filled / Charismatics" is merely "What is the effects Pentecostalism has had on modern evangelicalism?," why does it have to start with a thorough list of relevant Bible quotes? The OP question is not intended to discuss the bona fides of any doctrines, and the placement of the question in the "Spirit-Filled / Charismatics" forum denotes an intention not to debate them.

If you think that's necessary, start your own topic in those forums.

You are incorrect on so So many levels.
Paul also speaks of praying in tongues where his mind is unfruitful (does not understand the prayer) .. But this is the wrong forum for you to debate against it

Again i answer your question ..the same effect it had in acts.. There is no real evangalism without the holy Spirit. And penticostalism began on the day of pentecost.
