Just as seen from The Mountaintop.
From (this) Christians viewpoint.
We could call it "good works" that we of this house do to help poor countries and the ones living there. And I wish to stress the point that we expect nothing in return for our good works, we only take joy that we have a little extra to give and (all credit) for that goes to God.
There's a lot of accusing going on these days of ones telling others they have not a heart for these people. These accusers usually have not a clue who they are even talking to or accusing. Not only does that get very old but, it can be painful and shows a real lack of loving understanding.
So not to blow smoke up my tailpipe here, we enjoy sponsoring children in South American countries and support sending missionaries out around the world.
We highly recommend sponsoring children. It's a joy when they write to us explaining what they are doing and how their lives are improving because of our giving.
I know looking at what we have these are very small things that we do. I believe the key for the Christian is to do what we do and then try to occasionally pick it up a notch.
There's also nothing wrong with helping ones here at home in the United States. I started a Bible Ministry many years ago and have given away thousands of Christian books and bibles and still today I'm a Gideon. When I am dead and gone they will be still giving away Bibles that I paid for. I don't share this to brag. These things warm my heart in a way that is hard to explain.
I'm also hooking up lately with Ligonier Ministries so as to supply Christian materials to prisons. Just so happens we know a few backsliders that are in prison doing time. Sin can sure catch up with us -- this I know.
Maybe if we all Step Up and (I just a little more) -- we can all together really make a difference for ones in the world that are needy?
