These are our experiences too, W2L. My wife especially feels hurt by some family members and friends, even at our age. We pray together about them.
To continue with my testimony on arriving in Barbados my wife and myself were both baptised into the Seventh Day Adventist Church, but after five years there was still little fellowship and no spiritual connection. All they seemed to want was our tithe. We also had reservations concerning some of their doctrines so we withdrew our attendance. We could attend the Sabbath School as visitors only for fellowship but would not stay for the Divine Hour.
Our lives now are at home. We try to help anyone if possible, and hopefully bring them closer to God.
Its good to let God lead us by His commands. They protect us. Amen.

Psalm 25:10 All the paths of the Lord are loving kindness and truth
To those who keep His covenant and His testimonies

Anyone have any thoughts on deeper fellowship? I believe its something that takes time and experience. Please feel free to disagree. or add your own thoughts.
I guess it all depends on what’s important to a person. Some it’s TV, some it’s sports, some waxing their car, worshipping their home.. all idolatry.... but for some.. it’s Christ, moment to moment. Luke 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
