Hello...

I don't know if I was ever really saved...
I was born into a strange family, whereby my mom was a buddhist, and dad, a freethinker.
Due to bullying incidents in high school, and family problems, I developed social anxiety and depression, and suffered greatly. My parents tried to find all sorts of help for me, but to little avail.

I broke down in class one day, and a classmate brought me to her church. I attended for a while, and said the salvation prayer a few times, but never really understood anything at all. I only heard the pastor preach something like "good things happen to people who believe that God loves them". I wanted good things to happen to me, so I began to fervently believe that God loved me. I tried to focus on Jesus, I paid attention to the holy spirit, and I was happier. But then bad things happened, and I slowly began to become disappointed in God. I entertained carnal thoughts of doing life my own way, etc., and began living my own way. I began becoming depressed again, and very confused. I started doing wrong things too, and had dark thoughts.

I still have bad thoughts these days, and really wonder about whether or not I have ever been saved.

What does it take to be saved?

If someone has experienced God before but has turned away, can he ever go back to God again and experience God again?

I remember there's this bible verse that says something like, if someone experienced God but then turned away from Him, then it's worse off or something...

I wonder if, if let's say I ever experienced God's love and was sensitive to the Holy Spirit, and thus was joyful, but then due to bad incidents happening and a general disappointment with God and thus turned my own way, is there still hope left for me?

The only way into Hell is to hate God so much that you actually consider His deeds to be from Satan. God already did all the work to cover all your sins. Trust that Jesus dying was enough effort on God's part, and you are saved.

There's always hope. I don't question the sincerity of your beliefs, but I have reason to question your conversion.

Were you baptized? If so, by whom?

Our great apostle Paul speaks often about false gospels, and if anyone teaches a false gospel, Paul talks about how that false teaching places that specific person onto a bad path.

Question: Who's fault is it for being on the wrong path?

Right, it isn't yours. So, if you were not taught the true Word of God, and there's no way that you were, well, same thing....who's fault is that?

Right, it isn't yours. So if you were not taught the true Word of God, I absolutely guarantee that you are always welcome to hear the REAL truth and believe.

We are told that in order to receive eternal life, one must hear and believe the Good News of Jesus Christ. Since the Gospel of Mark is the shortest of the Gospels and specifically starts out with, "This is the Good News of Jesus.....", I would go through it. Get five high lighters. Highlight everything that discusses Belief with one color. Highlight all that deals with Submission of any kind. Highlight all that deals with Obedience with another color. Do the same thing with Confidence/Weakness/Insecurity and the last color for Sharing of any kind.

If you come to KNOW this scripture and if you decide that you want to BECOME what is expected of you, then I would say that your beliefs would be in proper alignment. If your beliefs are in alignment with God's will for all things, then you are facing the door of submission. Scriptures are clear that we cannot be His disciples if we don't obey. So, the decision to obey is the decision to submit, or humble yourself to Him. If we don't want to submit, then we cannot expect anything, not one thing from God.

So get to know Mark. That Gospel can absolutely save you, but you must place effectual belief into it!

You can do it. I believe in you! And if you need anything, send a private message and we'll get things done quickly. You don't need to suffer over this anymore. I have overcome this problem and I know that you WILL too. I believe.

Erm, I wasn't baptized yet ><

That is the answer to your question. Christian doctrine prohibits a person from being baptized twice. If you've never been baptized you should simply discuss it with a priest.

The first place you need to seek is the Bible.

As someone has suggested to read Mark.

I would say: talk to God like you would a friend or father. Say, "God help me". Simple as that, but mean it from your heart.
Start reading from Matthew with an open heart. Let the word of God speak to you, through the Bible.

The short answer to your question is that you cannot be saved AGAIN. Once one is saved, it is eternal. One cannot lose their salvation, so one cannot be saved a second time since they are already saved to begin with.

Now, are you saved to begin with? Do you believe you are a lost sinner in need of Jesus Christ alone to save you by His blood which He shed on the cross to wash away your sins? Do You believe that He alone is Lord? Do you believe that He died, was buried and on the third day was resurrected unto life again? If your answer to these questions is YES, then according to Paul and Jesus, you are saved. You received the INDWELLING Holy Spirit (and not just partook of the Spirit) who will never leave you or forsake you, and by whom you are sealed unto the day of redemption to the Father.

This is what the Bible teaches, churches notwithstanding. Do you need to get baptized with water? No. There is one baptism and that is by the Holy Spirit entering into you. We are told in 1 Corinthians 1:17 - "For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel:" Paul baptized until he received this command from Jesus. It is amazing how almost all churches still practice baptism and argue over whether it is necessary for salvation, how to do it, etc., yet ignore this simple command. Not to baptize at all. It is not needed for salvation and when done is actually in disobedience to the Lord now. It was a command to the Jews for salvation, but in the current dispensation of times, we no longer are to baptize, to heck with church doctrine on this.

Now if you are saved as per the questions I asked regarding getting saved, your falling away would be considered like that of the prodigal son, who left his family and went into the world. You may have left God's family, but God did not leave you. You then come back to God's family, welcomed with open arms. This is, of course is if you are saved in the first place. Jesus says that all who come to Him, He will not cast out for ANY reason. Did you actually come to Jesus and get saved? If not, you may still be able to do so. If on the other hand you are as described in Hebrews 6:4-6, then those verses tell you where you are at. I personally do not know. Only you can find out, and find out from Jesus Himself, not people. People cannot guarantee anything, but Jesus can.

Hebrews 6:4-6 - 4 "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." Such was never saved in the first place and won't be. Whether this is you or not is between you and God. I do not know enough about where you are at just from your OP, and am not your judge... God is our judge.

Hello, thank you for your reply.

May I know why the people described in Hebrews 6:4-6 have never been saved and will never be..?

I feel like this means me. Does this mean then that I'm doomed to hell?

Although I said the sinner's prayer several times in the past I didn't understand what it really meant... I stumbled upon a church and somehow said the sinner's prayer several times, began to pray in tongues, seemed to experience the Holy Spirit, but then due to some issues became disappointed in God and gave into thoughts to stop seeking God's way of living...

When I first said the sinner's prayer and received the Holy Spirit, I sought God's help and depended on God a lot, based on certain things I heard other people around me say, such as "be fully reliant on God"... I didn't talk to God much, but depended on Him a lot. I was quite unsure about Christianity back then, and found that I didn't quite know how to live as a Christian except depend on God in areas I needed help with.

I depended on the Holy Spirit, to survive day to day, but realized I didn't know who I was. When things I trusted God to happen didn't happen, and bad things happened instead, I grew disappointed, and started entertaining thoughts about not turning to God anymore...

I don't know if this means falling away... I began to tune out God's voice and listened to my own thoughts more... Back then when I first went to church I didn't really understand anything about sinners and God's grace and being in Christ and everything... I think I just stumbled upon everything, and depended on God for a while before turning away from God in disappointment over some things. Over the years after that I became dark and had bad thoughts more, but whenever I prayed to God He would come through at times, just that I felt I was more confused, and found it hard to really know which voice was His anymore (used to be clearer in the past).

I became lost, confused and dark, and would find myself shutting God out, and even found it hard to believe in God at times...

I find myself cynical at times even ><

I don't know...

I don't even know if I was ever saved, what I am now, and what hope I have left.

I feel hopeless at times.

First, speaking in tongues does not mean you have the Holy Spirit. Tongues have come and gone and were meant for the benefit of non-believers, not for believers back in the days of the Pentecost in the book of Acts. I asked you several questions in my last post, which if you answered "yes" to all of them, you are saved. We have an enemy, Satan, who is always causing us to doubt or feel guilty, rebel against God, etc. He works overtime on those who belong to God. This may be where your doubts and depression are coming from... Satan. Read the book of Psalms. I will give you a verse that will help you understand that if you came to Jesus in the first place, you are saved.

My questions that reveal salvation are words of assurance that you can know right now that you are saved if you believe in Jesus as your personal Savior. He saves us from sin and death. "The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23 Jesus saves us from sin and death. We will acquire new bodies at the rapture and our spirits are quickened (made alive) by the Holy Ghost when we are saved. Spiritual death is the eternal separation from God in hell, which Jesus can save us from.

John 6:37 - "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." So, once you are saved, you cannot be cast out. When you come to Jesus from the Father, Jesus will not cast you out for any reason. If you come to Jesus to be saved, it is because the Father draws you to Him, though you think you made the decision yourself; it is really decided by God. Those questions I asked you, did you say "yes" to all of them? Do you understand them? If so to both of these questions, you are saved forever.

Stay out of churches - they are corrupt. Read the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible. The modern versions are corrupt (there are over 900 versions - which one is best? God is not the author of confusion and the KJV has been the main English Bible for over 400 years. He would not give us a bum Bible as the only source of His word for 400 years.) There were other Bibles, which were hardly present during that time - the Geneva and the Douay-Rheems, both of which are good but hard to find. The KJV can be easily understood, though the English is not what you are used to. You will be taught by the Holy Ghost as to understanding what you read. 1 John 2:26-27 tells us we need no man to teach us but the Holy Spirit will teach us of all things. I do not believe you fit Hebrews 6:4-6 because you want to be in the family of God. You are probably just a prodigal son returning home. God is well-pleased with you if this is the case. Please tell me whether you believe the things I asked or not.

Thank you so much! I will do that :)
You are most welcome. I actually printed out the entire book so that I could really write things out, figure things out.

So if you do this, I want you to notice how many Times we read about how the disciples hearts were hardened and how God basically saved the disciples lives by causing them to "never" truly believe. Because of their unbelief, their lives were spared as Jesus was being led off for murder. Peter directly denied Jesus, and so everyone else abandoned Him as well. But this had to be done! The disciples hearts were hardened until AFTER the resurrection. This is unbelievable and gives us amazing insight.

So go through the scriptures word by word, and ask yourself "Is this something that we should believe?" If so, highlight it with your "belief" pen. Sometimes a passage is highlighted with multiple colors, such as Mark 9:50, where Jesus says, "Be at peace with each other." I feel that we need to believe this idea, submit to this idea, should obey this idea and it also addresses confidence, because being at peace with each other builds confidence.

Understand each word and then each phrase. Do your best to understand everything in Mark! But it can be tricky because Mark does boil things down quite heavily. He can write things that seem confusing until you read the same story in another of the Gospels, but there are only a couple instances like that.

Once you have all of these pages highlighted, I think you'll be surprised at the results, for this is spiritual work! And when we complete true, spiritual work, I believe that God rewards our eagerness.

Have fun!

My friend, the only thing that should cause you to feel hopeless is if you are unwilling to obey. You see, if you obey, doing what is expected of you, then you will possess confidence. That is the natural order of things. This is what BSOCS is all about. How can a person be confident if they refuse to obey? And why would anyone obey if they have not submitted, and why would any one have a proper or healthy submission if what they believe is not in proper alignment?

This is why we must get our beliefs in proper order. Once that is done, then we must make life adjustments according to these new truths that we believe in.

Yup I think I believe in what you asked me...

But I feel like I was like Esau who gave up his birthright in a way. I remember turning away from God in my darkest moments, and choosing to see another man as my savior instead. I was miserable at home, and I thought I could escape through another guy and live a new life. I remember shutting God out as I looked to this guy as my savior. I feel like all this shutting God out made me a wicked person. Is there any hope left for me?

Also I've been told that i need to attend church and worship God together with others or else God won't be happy. Does this mean I will need to attend a church, just not one that confuses me?

As for being saved, you either believe or you don't, there is no "maybe." You need to know you go to heaven when you die, and that is based on faith by the grace of God to believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Jesus died for all our sins, not just some of them. When you believe, you are washed clean of all your sins. When the dark stuff happens, just tell yourself, "get thee behind me, Satan." The more good you receive from reading the Bible and walking with the Lord, the less room there will be for dark garbage. What you did before is past. If you were a believer before, you are always one, even if you fall away with doubts. Just remember that anything someone talks you into, someone else can talk you out of. This is why it takes an act of God by election (divine selection) to save you. It happens, though you may not be aware it was God that did this. The Bible says election is the only way one is saved, so if you believe in Jesus and His word, the matter is settled, you have no worries.

Anyone who says only good things will happen to you when you believe, is full of it. Satan loves to try to gum up the works on your relationship with God. Your way of fighting back is to call on the name on Jesus by name. I have been a Christian for over 30 years, and have have plenty of intense spiritual warfare, even to the point of partial or temporary possession of my mind by Satan himself. Jesus rescued me from this when I became able to call out to Him to help me. He did straightaway.

As for church, we are to worship as a group in church, but we are also to leave churches that are corrupt. Both are commandments. Wait until you are grounded in 1 and 2 Timothy on your own, with the teaching of the Holy Spirit. Then you will be able to determine a Biblical church from one that is corrupt. All the main line denominations, without exception are corrupt. Also, avoid churches with women pastors as this is not allowed, according to the Scriptures. The number of women pastorettes is becoming rampant today, but it is against the word of God. Same thing with the teaching of free will. Our will is always against God. We cannot choose to come to Jesus because He says no one does. No one seeks after God. If you are seeking after God, it is because the Father is drawing you to the Son. You shall be or are saved.

Thank you for your reply :)

But what if the churches near me all have women pastors?
Is it okay if I attended those churches just that I don't attend services preached by women pastors?

and would it be okay to hang out with believers who attend services preached by women pastors? or go for life groups led by female leaders (not pastors) from these churches?

And is it okay for me to preach the Good News of Christ salvation to other people? I am a girl... :/

Great questions! Until someone can give me a logical reason for why women should continue to have no voice, or that their word in court is not considered, I'd dare suggest that saving lost souls is the objective of every legitimate "Christian".

It seems you're afraid of some imaginary consequence here, and that shows you could never have an authentic faith.

Salvation is by covenant. It is not by works.

What it takes is you being serious about wanting to follow HIM. It seems to me by your posting the question here you were and still are serious about wanting God. So yes, I believe you have been saved and remain so.

Romans 10:13
for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

What you need to do now is find a good bible teaching church and find a person there who will mentor/disciple you to grow you up in the faith.
