My name is Jacob (my nickname/ artist name is Dash). I am a 21 year old college student who decided to become a Christian a couple of years ago and was baptized at a UCC church. I have lived in Alabama my whole life, so the Christianity I encountered growing up tended to be evangelical and conservative. I am a history major, and I love learning about the early church and the Protestant Reformation.

Wow, Jacob, a young person like you (age 21) who is actually interested in CHURCH HISTORY? Unbelievable! Well, I'm a trained librarian, and have I got a website for you. It is "Paradise and Utopia" by Fr. John Strickland. It is a podcast on Ancient Faith Radio. Don't have a heart attack, it is on Ancient Faith Radio, yes, but Fr. John is an American (as you can tell from his last name) and in addition to talking about Byzantine history (the Early Church) he talks a TON about the Protestant Reformation, as well. Go to this website, it is 100% free:

Welcome Jacob , my friend.
History is a great major.
Always great to hear the youth wanting to learn especially about church history.
I like your artist name "Dash" and would love to hear how that came about and what kind of artist you are .
If you could let me (us) know that would be great.
May you be blessed and make many friends here .

Peace my friend , in our precious Saviours name.

It was originally my rap name (I still rap, but haven’t been in the “studio” for a while). I have a Facebook page called “Dash Spoken Word Artist” and sign in to poetry slams as Dash.
I decided on it because I ran cross-country and track and because of the dash in my last name.

Thank you for the response.
That is cool how the name came about.
What do you believe your calling to be , if I may ask?
