(Adult Conservatives only) What brings you the Most Joy?

Hello, that's a nice poll. When I have the time, I enjoy watching spiritual programs (GOD TV), historical documentaries, lifestyle and fitness programs on TV. While on holidays, I prefer outdoor activities (your poll doesn't list this, but I thought that I should mention it), as they draw me closer to God. Sometimes I watch Netflix or youtube videos, again on similar topics. Peace in Christ.

The OP seems like a trick question. My hobb[ies?] and everything in your poll certainly bring pleasure, but not joy. Knowing my standing in Jesus is the only thing that does that. The only thing that brings even more joy is when I recognize that the Holy Spirit is using me to bless someone else or to otherwise advance His Kingdom.

Out of those, watching movies is the only one that I actually do so that would be my answer. I do read the bible and if that counts, that would be my answer, but I don't read any other books besides that.

For me Bible reading is my hobby, it is my greatest joy as that is where I see Jesus.
I don't think of Bible reading as something I have to do, but as something I get to do.
I like to read fictional books too. Currently reading the Wheel of Time series, but that doesn't bring joy, maybe a chuckle here and there.

Honestly, my answer is "it depends". I enjoy them all, and would rank them all similarly. However, I did pick "watching movies" since my primary hobby is filmmaking. Even then, I watch movies in different ways. I can critique them or I can watch them for entertainment. Depending on why I'm critiquing a film, it can be more a chore than a joy.

I watch YouTube videos of people creating things from wood and metal.

Of the four, it would be reading books which brings more lasting enjoyment/happiness/joy, but by a thin margin.

When I was a teenager, reading was definitely my favorite of those that you mention. Over the past 10 years though, of those that you mention, watching movies is my favorite hobby, though I like them all. But joy is something different, and I find joy at Church and with my family and at times in prayer.

Well, I suppose since camping and riding my Harley aren't on the list... Books.

I cant see how this poll has anything to do with conservative Christianity. That's the subject for this forum.

I put appreciating fine art paintings. Because I don't consider watching t.v, or movies a hobby. My walls are filled with pictures and paintings that I buy from the thrift stores! I can't afford that expensive of ones. Maybe 5-25 per picture or painting. I enjoy the colors, and how they make me feel happy and expressive. They're very beautiful. My house is filled with them.

Of the options given, I picked Fine Art Paintings. Even though the others give me joy at times, they can be a mixed bag. (Sometimes they bring joy, sometimes angst.) Appreciating a painting puts me in a calmer and more spiritual mood. It isn't an intense joy, it is subtle and peaceful.
