I have severe social anxiety, stress, depression. The Lord is my helper though. :) Hes like my daily medication and im so happy to be able to say this. Hes my hope and joy. Praise the Lord.
I still deal with social anxiety somewhat, not near as much as I used to though.
I could be in a crowd of people and all alone. Even sitting at a table with friends I would always find myself between 2 conversating groups and part of neither one.
But meditating on Proverbs 14:26 helped me a lot.
In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence and His children shall have a place of refuge.
When we are overawed by God, worrying what others think of us just doesn't seem to matter as much.

I agree. I was just thinking of a similar scripture.

In Ephesians 1:19-23 Paul talks about the exceeding greatness of the power that God has towards us who believe.
This power raised Jesus from the dead
and
seated Him at His own right hand in the Heavenly places
which is
far above all principalities
and power
and might
and dominion
and every name that is named both in this world and that which is to come
and He put all things under His feet
and He gave Him to be Head over all things to the church which is His body.

I am not sure of the difference between the principalities, power, might and dominion, but Jesus Christ is far above them all.
That is exceeding great power that God has towards us who believe.

Christ in you the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27

Christ living inside of us gives us a positive expectation of glory.
Scriptural hope is not a hope-so-hope, but it is having confidence that God will do as He said He would.
This hope we have is an anchor for our soul promised to us by God who cannot lie. Hebrews 6:19

Have you ever felt doubt and fear? Im sure im not alone in that. There are so many questions about why things are the way they are. I found that Gods peace is worth meditating on. I use to be tormented by fear and doubt, and even now i can sometimes experience those things but now i am somehow able to empty my mind of those thoughts and to meditate on peace, love, and joy. Sometimes i need to wait when im going thru a difficult thing. Wait on the Lord and also be still. Be still my soul.

Me too.

It's seemingly impossible for me at times, to be "still" and with it, the restlessness and the inability to sleep or even concentrate.

Your last sentence is an example of how David would encourage his own soul.

Thank God for His peace, and that we can lat all of our burdens down at His feet.

Im thinking of the Psalms, particularly Psalms 1 and Psalms 23. How well they edify my soul. Praise the Lord.

Amen. I LOVE Psalms. They have always edified my heart and soul.

The Psalms have some deeply heart felt stuff in them

BIG TIME. i think they "anchored" me into God ministering to me through them. He used them mightily, because i could relate to David and all that he poured out to God from the depths of his heart and soul. And as precious as God is, He "heard" David in ALL of it. And He does the same with us. David reminds us that we are not alone, even if it seems we are.

This song ministered to me today, especially the lyrics....

talk about raising beauty from ashes....it's spot on.

Heaven came and kissed the earth
Prophets long ago foretold His birth
He became the living word
To show the human heart its worth, oh-oh-oh-ohh

[Pre-Chorus:]
Whether I'm in want or plenty
Whether I'm in health or ill
Our God promises His children
He will, He will

[Chorus:]
He'll bind up the brokenhearted
Oh He will, oh He will
He'll set captives free from darkness
Oh He will, oh He will
He'll breathe hope into the hopeless
Help a restless soul be still
Oh-ohh, oh-ohh
He will, He will

He came to walk in truth and grace
Man of sorrows entered all our pain
On the cross, He took our place
Then He rose up out of the gra-a-ave

[Pre-Chorus:]
Whether I'm in want or plenty
Whether I'm in health or ill
Our God promises His children
He will, He will

[Chorus:]
He'll bind up the brokenhearted
Oh He will, oh He will
He'll set captives free from darkness
Oh He will, oh He will
He'll breathe hope into the hopeless
Help a restless soul be still
Oh-oh-ohh, oh-oh-ohh
He will, He will!

Oh-oh-ohh, ohhh-oh
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-ohh
Oh-oh-ohh, ohhh-oh
Oh-oh-ohhhh

[Bridge:]
He'll give beauty for our ashes
He'll restore the oil of gladness
We will praise Him through our sadness
Until the promise is fulfilled
Oh-oh-ohh, oh-oh-ohh
He will, He will

[Chorus:]
He'll bind up the brokenhearted
Oh He will, oh He will
He'll set captives free from darkness
Oh He will, oh He will
He'll breathe hope into the hopeless
Help a restless soul be still
Oh-oh-ohh, oh-oh-ohh
He will, He will
Oh-oh-ohh, oh-oh-ohh
He will, He will

Im thinking of the Psalms, particularly Psalms 1 and Psalms 23. How well they edify my soul. Praise the Lord.
Recently my Pastor asked me if I would lead a Bible study in our church.
The first passage I took was Psalm 1.
The first time we managed to get halfway through the 2nd verse in an hour and a half.
Last week we made it to the first part of verse 3.
"He shall be planted by the rivers of water."
I made the point that "planted" means a conscious action. Then one of the guys said, "Nobody consciously plants a tree next to a river because of possible erosion".
I did some research and there are only a few trees that can survive being planted by a river.
This certain tree has to be able to withstand a lot of moisture.
To me, that just shows how truthful God's Word is. When the illustrations in the Bible don't seem right, upon careful consideration we find out that God's Word is correct.

btw, I named our Bible study, "Word Eaters" based on Jeremiah 15:16 .
