What sometimes makes me sad is the fact that many Christians speak more about sin than about love. They think by talking about sin and seeking sin in everything that they love God. They tell others what sin is and thus condemn anyone who does so. It saddens me that the message of the gospel is not understood. That it is a message of love. It is good to occasionally warn people about a certain life course but to talk about it constantly and never to talk about love, that saddens me. People, love transcends a multitude of sin. Every time you designate sin in another, you must speak ten times as much about love. Love is so important because it will never come to an end. Sin will come to an end. Love is there for eternity. Grow in that which is eternal. Many believe by denouncing sin that one loves God, as I said. But how can one love God by only talking about evil every time? Because that is what sin is: evil. But God is love. God is the good. Speak more about love than about sin against each other. It is written that we must stop to focus on fleshly things and to focus more on spiritual things. Why do we always focus on sin, which literally come from the flesh? Why do not we focus on love, which is spiritual? Because God is love. Love is eternal. Love is the spiritual, whereas sin is the carnal. Let carnal dying and spiritual dominate. Let us recreate our hearts people like I said before and only be loving. Let Christ judge. If I lose because I do not want to judge, then I do not understand Christ's work. He never judged those who believed in Him and accepted Him as Lord. He forgave them, healed them, brought grace to their house, gave them food, sat at table with them, defended them and died for them. Christ His heart was not, like ours, full of sin. His heart was full of love. God's heart is full of love for us people. He can point us to sin, certainly, but he does not do it the way we do it. He does that as a Father. He does that in a loving way. But if you can not stop pointing let the other to his sin, speak about love a hundred times more. The love that Christ has for us as a sinner. For I, I am a sinner, I am probably the greatest among you all but I have felt the love of Christ for me and I have learned from that that God loves the sinner. Therefore let us love one another as God loves us.

The thing people are missing is their emotions.
Sins demonstrate behaviour out of control, seeking the quick solution amongst the possible options.
Love is very emotional, speaks from the heart, talks about intimacy and being real, as open communion one with another.

And those who let emotion take over rather than express and then put into context are often destroyed.

So what you are observing is people who know the power of Jesus, for themselves but not how to take the next steps. So they know morality and conformity and their need, but not integration, rejoicing with those who rejoice, weeping with those who weep, so it is much safer to talk about failure, rather than love and the power of success and victory in Christ which seems to elude them.

They tell others what sin is and thus condemn anyone who does so.
See the end of verse 11. It would appear that just because one is pointing out sin does not automatically mean one is condemning another. They are two separate things.

John 8:2-11
2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger.7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

11 “No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

It is a two edged sword. We all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of G_d! But G_d came to earth in the flesh because He LOVED mankind so much suffered and gave His life on the cross for no one took it from Him that everyone who calls upon His name can have everlasting life with Him! What more can mankind ask of G_d to do for them? God the Father, Yeshua (Jesus, His name in Greek, G_d in flesh) and the Holy Spirit (G_d in action), who now dwells among mankind. G_d is TRUTH and LIGHT and no sin can exist in His presence. That is why our sins must be washed away by Yeshua's blood sacrifice or we could not exist in G_d's presence. Yeshua's was the spotless lamb of G_d that was the final blood sacrifice that fulfilled the requirement of the Law that was shown by the sacrifice on the Holy Temple for all mankind for all time for evermore an thus was the Temple Curtains' rent into upon Yeshua's crucifixion death.

Hi JimBeta, my brother in Christ. It’s our sin nature. It’s easier, much easier to speak about sin than about love. Easier to condemn than to love. It makes us too vulnerable. Uncomfortable-- removing our worldly masks when we really ought to do so. Did a Christian brother/sister decide to condemn you? Or are you just speaking in general in what you see us as Christians doing? Are these mature Christians or Christians that need to be discipled, or both? (ESV) 1Cor 3:1-3 But I, brothers,a]">[a] could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, 3 for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? Simply asking, blessings

I get condemned many times by my so called brothers and sisters but I wrote this some time ago to adress something I see on this website. I see a lot of posts about sin and not so much about love on the homepage of the website. It saddens me to be honest.

But I get condemned many times by others. I am a false teacher, I have demons, I am not a member of the Body of Christ, I am not saved, I honor a false god, I am stupid, I am not a christian. The list can go on and on. Still there are people who also find encouragement in my words. Still there are a few who actually understand what I write. So in the end its not too bad I guess.

Dear brother,

Welcome. I shared the same as you, that love is our true focus, an open heart with Christ and His truth flowing from us.

Unfortunately, the truth is there is a group who actively teach and believe no one can live like this, and their hearts are closed, ruled by sin and evil until they meet Jesus, and only by admitting this failure are we really saved and not relying on "works" to be saved. For them the testimony of cleansing and loving is just trying to prove to God you are worthy of salvation, not literally a testimony of His love working in an open heart and none of it is possible without communion in the Holy Spirit.

My conclusion is these people do not know the Lord, though they claim faith, they have shut Him out of who they are, and refuse to change. Jesus met such as these and this was His response

You hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.
Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.
Matt 23:25-26

So be encouraged, for His sheep listen to His voice, and His kingdom cannot be stopped or the truth of love working in His people despite the lost continually making war against righteousness and following the Way.

I am not a member of the Body of Christ

I have found this behaviour very strange. A "brother" spent literally years trying to provoke an anger response in me to demonstrate I was a sinful hypocrite so his belief that there are only legalists, hypocrites trying to pretend love and righteousness, and sinners who have faith in Jesus, was true. He called me to repentance many times, though had nothing to condemn me on which needed repenting.

I tried all the emotional attempts to show the need for love in his heart, things where empathy and connection mattered, but he was as hard as steel. He would even deny points he made a note above to maintain his denial. And nothing in him would allow him to humble himself and walk with a heart of flesh. For him I was a liar, making up the testimony and love I had.

I do empathise with these people and know of the hurt and pain they have suffered through legalism in their early life, and conformity to a form of faith that dictated belonging above spiritual reality. Once that fell away, and they realised Jesus accepts us in our sin, they broke. Except rather than letting Him in, they made their past friends enemies, and condemn anyone who appears like them in their eyes.

And rather than repenting and being cleansed, they just accept Jesus is prepared to work with them, except they never let Him work. And they have become condemners, so committed to destroying the "legalism" church, as it is now the enemy of their gospel in their eyes. Once you make others the enemy, you condemn oneself to be the enemy of God. We can just be light to love, light to the glorious work He does and the good works He inspires, for here is the light of life and eternity at work.

i couldn´t agree more. i think it has a lot to do with peoples ego and intelligence level. Those two stand in the way of people becomming what they should be. Real love is often not excisting in this world. I understand we as humans have a hard time living up to this love perfection, but in my view many people simply have no clue about what love is. Christianity is love, becomming better people through love, through denying ourselves. The more we deny ourselves and focus on others, the more we love. We like to put people in boxes, to raise our own worth we must put others down first. What does it help if you know the bible inside and outside, but have no clue what humanity or love is? So many put the book first when they should be putting the heart first, because the book is the guideline, but the love you give to others is your testimony that you understand what you belive in. Love in this world is mostly cold, it´s often only given in advance for something, it´s used as a calculating devise. Until we learn to lay down our ego, love can´t win. Christianity to me is not about being right or wrong, to sin or not, it´s about one thing, and that is compassion and love. That is what the bible is about, not putting fences between us, but tearing them down.

Hi, again Jim. I just don’t know what I would do in your situation. I belong to a church where love is! Maybe because we are an older group? I don’t know.

Is your congregation Bible believing or? When you speak to them, I take it that you speak directly from the Bible? Perhaps teaching a Bible class specifically on God’s love? What do your wise and trusted Christian brothers tell you? Just trying to encourage you, blessings
