Would you date someone who's somewhat below average IQ

1 Corinthians 3:19
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

Mark 8:36:
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

1 Timothy 6:19-21:
Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

Some of the "highest" IQ jokers of this world like Stephen Hawking believes in the everything coming from nothing theory.

The IQ test is a joke, I cannot believe anyone actually use that for metrics.

I don't date, but if I did then this would be a firm no. I have to be intellectually stimulated otherwise I quickly grow bored. My ideal partner would be somebody I can have intellectual discussions with on a variety of subjects.

I don't want to use the term "low IQ", but perhaps on the slower side. But very genuine and sweet. Why or why not?

Very sweet? That's something very rare in the Western world today.
I would if I were given an opportunity.

I think IQ tests can measure intelligence to some degree, but they're certainly not the be all and end all as to some extent they're measuring your ability to take IQ tests.

But I don't think the OP was referring specifically to IQ, but rather to someone with below average intelligence. And my answer to that is that it would depend on the person, but probably not as I think we'd battle to find enough common ground for things to work out in the long term. It doesn't mean that I wouldn't necessarily not go on a date with them, but the chances of that developing into us dating might not be all that good.

It would be one of my biggest dealbreakers.
If people,of average intelligence,sometimes have a hard time understanding me.How would someone,of a lower intelligence,ever understand me?

Probably not, but those aren't opposite traits. Genuine and sweet people tend to be sensitive, and sensitivity is often a sign of high intelligence.
Well you're describing emotional intelligence, which might be somewhat different from knowing lots of facts about the world - broad functional knowledge.

Yes.

Reasons why:
1. If I wanted to chat about things my partner doesn't understand or isn't interested in, I could join an appropriate club/society, talk to work colleagues, talk to friends, or join an internet forum.
2. If sweetness, kind heartedness, hugs and cuddles are absent from a marriage and home, even a Nobel prize winning scientist as a partner will not compensate for that.
3. I think there are different kinds of intelligence. Just because someone hasn't achieved some kind of academic standard or reached a certain IQ test level, that doesn't mean they don't have valuable life and relationship skills.

Problems with this. If you choose to leave the house or sit on your computer instead of having conversations with your spouse, she is likely to feel deserted and left out of your life. And how much are you going to feel like cuddling a woman who constantly is asking you to explain everything ... and she isn't like to sweetly cuddle a man who makes her feel stupid, which she will if she never understands what you are saying or you go elsewhere for conversation.

Since 50% of the population is below average (median) IQ you may not have much choice.

You (the OP) are also making the assumption that your IQ is relatively high. Compared to many others it may be that you're the one that's 'slow but sweet'. ;)

There are many people who may appear or even talk dumb but are mad geniuses in other areas of their life.

Don't judge people for being slow at first.

Also people tend to act very dumb in situations they lack confidence in. Give them a chance to be confident or find confidence before passing judgement.
