Please humour an out-of-towner....

How does the Reps keeping the Senate (as the polling suggested they would) have an influence on any investigation of Trump and Co...?
Yeah, weird an innocent man would need the help of a friendly Senate.

...If it is true, it means that the probe is already over. Those reports take a while to write.
Especially if one of the unindicted co-conspirators keeps doing things which look an awful lot like obstruction of justice. Hypothetically speaking, of course.

Maybe you are just too sane compared to the people I usually discuss this with, but if Mueller had any evidence that the president and a foreign power had concluded, then he would not have waited.

No, that doesn't fit with his previous MO in any way I've seen.

Most of the Never-Trumpers I have spoken with think that Mueller is going to reveal that Putin and Trump are lovers or something like that.

I don't believe this for a second.

I think that people are too focused on Mueller here.

The FISA documents, the Clinton investigation, the Russia investigation, all the Spygate crap, it's all back on the table.

Based on what evidence?

All of those investigations are pretty much completed now, but they couldn't really go anywhere because Jeff Sessions had recused himself

I'm pretty sure this is totally disconnected from how the Justice Department actually works.

but that's not an issue anymore. I think that Trump is going to hunt himself some witches now.

Yay! Show trials for everyone! We'll show those third world dictatorships how it is really done!

As much as I thoroughly disliked Sessions and disagreed with him on probably just about every major policy he pushed, he at least understood the role of the office.
Or had seen enough of the evidence to be terrified of getting caught up in it.

For chronic pain victims, I am glad Jeff "just take an aspirin" Sessions is fired. Good riddance. And he was the one ordering the DEA to harass MD's into dropping pain patients or into cutting their dosages in the "war on opioids".
