White ex-soldier (which means probably to the right of politics) shoots up some people..how does that not fit the narrative, exactly? What do you think the narrative is?

The people he shot weren't at a place popular with blacks, gays, transsexuals, Islamics, Jews, women, or whatever other group the Press likes to use to refer to it as a "hate" crime. Also, it wasn't an AR-15 that was used. 11 people were killed in Pittsburgh, and 13 were killed in CA (with a handgun). It seems that the numbers of people killed aren't the issue, but rather what "minority" the people were (if any) and which weapon was used.

Don't worry. The media won;t stay on this one very long. It doesn't fit their narrative.
True that they may not stay on it very long because these events are now common place and sooner rather than later there will be another shooting to report on.

Whatever right wing media tells them it is obviously!

Seriously though to looking more like PTSD than politics. A country and western themed bar does not scream far right target.

I wasn't really arguing the motive, rather questioning this concept of a "narrative", I was also in part questioning why "teh narrative" is the first thought on someone's mind when hearing about an event like this, but in truth I have long since given up on understanding the mindset of Christian conservatives.

Unfortunately, I lack the ability to read other people's minds. Apparently, so do you. ;)

Then perhaps it would be best to stick with that...you know...what they post.

But I did. Your first post was to mention handgun and smoke bomb, and your second post to comment on teh narrative. I can quote them if you already forgot them

And according to you a person’s first post on ChristianForums.com about a subject constitutes their first thought on that topic? Okie dokie then.

....just when I was thinking it's been unusually quiet on the mass-shooting front.

Did you forget the synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh? Or the Tallahassee yoga studio attack? Those were within the last week.

LOL I put on my hip waders and checked out some threads on Free Republic. The narrative was pretty thick there (Muslim, Antifa, etc.) until the facts came in. Then he was probably a Muslim convert or and ex-Marine turned Antifa.

Meh. Considering it was College night at the bar and it was full of college kids, I can see that being a target if the attack was born primarily out of politics.

Not saying it was, I'm more apt to believe this was just someone with serious PTSD and/or brain injury issues picking a packed location. But I will admit that when I first heard about it, my thoughts jumped to the possibility of it being a far right wing nationalist being upset at the election and targeting college kids. The fact it was a country western themed bar, didn't alter my thinking there.

That's two shootings at a two country music events. They must be fans of that kind of music. It also makes one wonder if that particular style of music is being targeted.
Clearly country music is inspiring violence and needs to be looked into.

LOL. Silly me, that's only the narrative when the genre of music that the victims or perpetrator listen to is heavy metal.

A Glock 21 with an extended magazine is a "low-capacity weapon"?

The extended magazine isn't even legal in California. They were outlawed there.
So much for "Gun Control" being able to stop things like this from happening. Yet people there are going to want more of the same, and they will get it. More shootings with things people thought wouldn't be available at places labeled as "Gun Free Zones".

So much for state-by-state gun control, you mean.
