Please can you give me your interpretation of what you think "Being in Tune with God" means to you.
It is simply reaching a level of understanding where one can walk with Him confidently in regards to what He expects and doesn't expect. You know His will, His desire, what pleases Him and what angers Him.
...in the same way a good child would know his parents, and what they expect. We as (someone's) children often find ways to
justify our action, rather than coming to our parents with humility and admitting what we did wrong. We sometimes try to keep a lie going,
even though we may know our parents know. We try to cover it up. We do this until we realize the work it takes to keep doing what we
want to do (against our parents' teaching). Then, and hopefully, we gain a bit of maturity through 1) transparency, 2) remorse, 3) seeking to rebuild a foundation of trust, and 4) making a change of heart to stay away from what caused you to stumble.
This happens at different ages in humans; the process of
sanctification could take a lifetime. To extend the metaphor, we have a "Big Brother" who can, indeed, perfectly in tune with the Most High God. Does this mean our Father will allow us to run amok and disobey Him? No. It means we can now be even more confident we can come to Him, since the One who perfectly follows Him makes
accounts in our favor, and literally died and resurrected to allow us a chance back to life.
We should take this opportunity to learn how to be perfectly in tune with the Most High God
now, while we are imperfect, so that we will have the discipline to
continue to apply that resonance with the Most High God (as all relationships between parents and children
continue to develop). In other words,
want [to be in tune with Him, and do everything you can] while you can (Psalm 23:1).
