I can assure you that the Church which Jesus founded is not the harlot of Babylon. Has it occurred to you that Revelation is referring to pagan Rome, which martyred Peter and Paul? Or even Jerusalem, considering Jesus' words, "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her!", and the fact that it was responsible for its own persecution of the Way? The harlot gets drunk on the blood of the saints, so whoever it is, it's certainly not the Church which these martyrs belonged to.
It has more chance to be true then someone who has not studied for it thinks, but thank you for laughing with me my friend
I’ve studied this topic for 22 years. I am quite confident that I am correct and not your study Bible. Study Bibles are often incorrect on the subject of prophecy.
I think its a translation from the English ESV StudyBible
Yes you know better. I still stick with what my studybible says.
I can assure you that the Church which Jesus founded is not the harlot of Babylon.
Does it have footnotes and comments
Jesus didn’t start the Roman Catholic Church. That Church didn’t start until after the time of Constantine in the 4th and 5th centuries.
Not really, they were accepted with Constantine but they were around for much longer. But nobody accepted them and they were persecuted. Have you ever read a theology book?
I went to Bible College and have served as a Pastor, so yes I’ve done my fair share of reading.
Have you ever read a church history book?
I read a bit of history about it in theology book.
Why then did Jesus never warn for Rome but warn for the love of money if Babylon has nothing to do with the materialistic world and the hunger for money? How many times has Jesus warned for Rome? How many times has Jesus warned for the love of money?
Its always easy to put the blame there where we have nothing to do with it. I understand my explanation is a bit harder to accept because it affects us allRome put Jesus to death. The disciples were expecting Jesus to bring an earthly kingdom and end the Roman Empire. Rome is more of a theme in the gospels than you may realize. Before Jesus ascension the disciples questioned him about the kingdom being taken from Rome and restored.
