Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching there unto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Prayer must close all the other parts of our Christian Armor. We must use holy thoughts in our ordinary course. A vain heart will be vain in prayer. We must pray with all kinds of prayer, public, private, and secret; social and solitary; sober and unexpected: with all the parts of prayer; confession of sin, petition for mercy, and thanksgiving for favors received. And we must do it by the grace of God the Holy Spirit, in dependence on, and according to, God’s teachings. We must preserve in particular requests, notwithstanding discouragements. We must pray, not for ourselves only, but for all saints. Our enemies are mighty, and we are without strength, but our Redeemer is almighty, and in the power of His mighty, we may overcome.
Jesus Christ our Lord. Grace, that is, the favor of God; and all good, spiritual and temporal, which is from it, is and shall be with all those who thus love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity, and with them only.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

The only way I know how to be strong in the Lord is to know my bible and to apply the scriptures in my daily life.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye MAY BE ABLE TO STAND against the wiles of the devil.

After being cloth with the Armor we still don’t do any warfare, as strange as it may seem we just STAND and let God do our battles.

It is so important to GET AND KEEP the amour on, and then TO STAND in the day of temptations. Satan and his demons try to rob you, they plan to see if they can steel what God has given us.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:

Amen Altya, and the rest of that scripture...Jesus came to give life and give it more abundantly.  With Him, life is abundant!

I love what you said above about our thoughts being holy.  I know when I was a new Christian, God was really working on my thought life.

There is so much more peace when you place your thoughts and ways in the Lord.  I never really thought about it closing up the armor, but that would make sense.  I've also heard of people referring to garments of praise, which is kind of in line with the holy thought life.  I think this would also dispel fear, if we would allow our minds to dwell upon the Lord and His word instead of the things in this world.

Thank You Altya.

You have been helping me so much. God Bless you for this.

Matthew 6:6,7

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place: and your Father who is in the secret place: and your Father who sees in secrect will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

We can enter into God's presence through prayer. It is the only way to find the peace, healthy, growth, and restoratio that our souls so desperately need.

Ee can learn to make our prayers more effective and powerful. Effective prayer includes telling God that we love Him, praising Him for who He is, thanking Him for what He has done, declaring our dependence on Him, confessing our sins, sharing what is in our hearts, waiting on God to speak to our hearts, and thanking Him for listening.

Thanks for quoting the second part of the scripture. - Its good to know with your heart that Jesus gives life ABUNDANTLY.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
I try to keep my mind always busy with God and His Kingdome. This is something that only takes practice but we can get carried away with every day’s problems so easily.

And remember when you are Standing to keep your eyes fixed firmly on Jesus. If you look around for your friends, brothers/sisters, you may discover you are standing alone, and you panic and forget that though they are not there you are still NOT alone. Jesus is ALWAYS there. Don't lose your focus!

Thanks for this reminder - I tend to look at my aloneness from time to time and then stumble. Yes, we are never alone but sometimes I just need a human hug too. I will focus and fix my eyes on Jesus.

Yes, a hug, now and then, is a need all humans have. In considering that, the old and lonely, and elderly living alone or in hospitals or nursing homes, also have this need. Perhaps we should give hugs more often. Seems when we give a hug, we receive a hug all at the same time, and two humans have their needs met all in one move! Yes?
